I am trying to figure out the redear 2021 a 6.3 lber. was caught ever since the lake had evasive quagga mussels invade the redear (shell crackers) have gone wild. We usually fish for stripers and every one on board wants to fish for them I might have to do a solo trip to figure out the redears.

This one was only 5.78lb.s

Have you tried fishing for the large bluegills? I hear reports of near 2lb. sunfish caught in Havasu. As a Minnesota fishing guide those would be one of my target fish in that lake. I would be using in-line spinners with minnows or gulp minnows. Ever one pound gills would make a good fish fry.

Anybody have a fishing report for these lakes?

Jess ranch in apple valley been closed since covid they talk about reopening but not open yet.
They are doing lots of work removing trees and cleaning up the shore line but no word on when or if they are going
to open.

I only fish from a boat so don’t really know any spots for crappie not many spots for them. Now redears lots of spots but on the boat is all I know.

Big carp in the channel on the Thomson bay side if you just c & r could have some fun. Plus even the stripers swim thru there now and then.

I have a fly rod that I like but really did not like fly fishing just me converted to a lite weight jig rod added an extended handle and a small reel. Works great for trout and pan fish nothing wrong with fly fishing just not for all of us.
