I have no interest in getting into the Temu thing, but as far as line goes, I try to look at things from a real perspective. You said your line was 10 years old. I have all Sufix 832 on my reels. I have it because I can see the neon green color, it does not fade, the texture of the line is very much to my liking after the first few casts of new line to get rid of the stiffness. Given your own scenario, that works out to $38 (incl. shipping) divided by ten year equals $3.80 per year. If you are really financially short, flip the line on the reel after ten years. $3.80 divided by 2 equals $1.90 per year. Is the $ 0.95 a year difference in savings for cheap line worth it to you? That is 1/2 cup coffee or a McDonalds Soda you will have to give up a year to make up the difference.
Go for the line that suits you. As for me, it is all about feel, non fade and knot holding strength. I have tried many types of braid. Until something better comes along, I am set on Sufix 832 braid in fireline green. Just an FYI, Sufix often has to be ordered. None of the local stores carry it. There are a number of locations you can order from. Now get your line spooled and go catch some fish. Just be sure to have fun doing it.

Thanks bapa. Money not a particular issue. Was just “casting 😊” about for thoughts. I think I’m going to stick with the name brand. It has served me well. The line I took off filled 2 other reels. So I’ll start the service life of a newly serviced reel with new line.
Thank you to everyone for your insights into this question.
I sent my Avet reel back to the manufacturer for service. For $44 they cleared and lubed the reel. In th box when I got it back was a small plastic bag that had 3 bearings and the old drag disc. They even put on a new knob to replace mine, which was scarred up. Completely satisfied with Avet service.
