I just returned from a 34 boat two day tourney out of cape fair. 10 fish 27+ lbs to win top 10 were within 3 lbs. The best fishing in 30 yrs. I've been going . Ned rigs tipped with talipia colored trds on bluffs where ever wood is . Great spook bite in am and cloudy rainy days. There was a spawn but the next wave is ready to come in. crawdad colored rock crawlers were a good bite as well.

The ethics of a fair chase. You can not use a drone to find game nor a vehicle unless handicapped. You can not hunt the same day you fly into spike camp.

I am sure we have all seen on TV fishing shows the new tech live scope. Several companies have similar units. I have spoken to several meat hunters not fishers who speak highly of the technology. What I find appalling is the attitude these people have about fair hunt/fish bragging about having hundreds of fish in their freezers. Reading the posts in this forum I feel a kindred spirit amongst us in that we enjoy being out of doors and the quest for a delightful day. Not having to bring home more than our fair share. The worst of the people I have spoken or come in contact with are the outfitters. One so brazenly bragging of having 700 crappies in his freezer to feed his deer and turkey hunters. Tablerock last spring the guides were decimating the spoonbill using this tech. Thank you for letting me vent. I have written letters to all my senators and congressmen as well as the dept. of fish n game. FAIR CHASE FOR FISH SAME AS FOUR LEGGED GAME.

i fished Flathead, Hungry Horse, Swan, and Kocanusa back in the 70s spring time runs of different species up the streams from the big lakes were outstanding. Monster Dolly Vardons to 20 lbs hitting 10" plugs was nothing short of unbelievable. There weren't any smallmouth in the lakes back then. I found Millacs in Minnesota for the 21 to 25" Smallies. I loved my yrs. in the Flathead valley/Bigfork Thank you for bringing those memories back.

ok its been many years since I lived in the flat head valley Montana. I helped build the Timbers Motel in Big Fork and many homes around flat head lake and the surrounding area. The lakes and streams in northwest Montana are were trout waters then and I expect they still are I know they are trying to eradicate small mouth bass in lake Tahoe and many lakes in the north west. I do know there were large mouth in Swan lake when I was there and it seemed to be a big secret and a hush hush attitude about them. There are all kinds of fishing opportunities for many different species of trout in the surrounding area. I remember the bass fishing on the east side of the divide Ft. Peck being one. As always once you are immersed in the community I'm sure opportunities will abound. One of my most fond memories was a 6 week hike into the Bob Marshall wilderness area. Lol you might want to think about the caliber of side arm you pack as well I never had occasion to use but I did find myself sharing water with da bears.

Remember the movie (The DI) starring jack webb Camp Lejeune . The hell the scrub marine went tru in boot camp. DI made a big deal for swatting a sand flea while training. I lived on beach in the 60s and my poor dog suffered from the bitein buggers.
