300 lb blue shark up here in Maine last summer. A nice one but could be beat sometime in the next couple of years with a nice mako or bluefin. Lol very happy with that shark

Just learn how to tie a good connector knot like the uni to uni or Alberto and use that. Those are pretty fast and easy to tie versus the fg and hold very well when tied correctly. For stripers I like to use a ~15 foot mono shock leader and those knots zip right through my guides.

I haven’t been posting much lately because I’ve been busy on fishing charters. The fishing has been good, plenty of blue sharks and bait around. No makos or great whites yet but it’s about time! August is prime time for the those. The reason I haven’t been posting much is because I don’t get a lot of photos because I am crewing and when I do my summer camp doesn’t have great WiFi so it takes forever to upload photos but I will try with this post! I’ll do my best to take more and upload some for the rest of the season before I go back to school September 1st. I couldn’t get any photos to upload 😕

If your not an only fly guy then you should try a Ned rig. That’s a great thing to use for smallies, either with a googan rattlin Ned trailer or some sort of craw.

Teeny little smallmouth on the fly rod a few days ago. He was so small!

I like my ugly stick rod/penn reel setup for stripers, maybe pick up something a little lighter. A lot of people like a penn combo as well.
