Was Surf fishing this past weekend in Long Branch there were boats in groups multiple spots with a lot of action. The surf was pretty good also. Long Branch Beach

There were lots of birds working in Raritan bay so I never made it past Sandy Hook but I heard it was good down to LB! Hopefully you had some action.

IF you ever want company, lmk. Be fun to go for them from a boat!!

Will do, the only person I usually find brave enough to go out in the snotty weather is my sister. Everybody else is fair weather only haha. I’ll keep you in mind.

Haven't made it back yet. You certainly hooked some big ones!! Good to see.

It was a windy rainy miserable day, but the stripers made it worth it! Weird all I caught were stripers that NJ say are too big to keep but hopefully it helps sustain the species because they are a blast to catch!!

Good luck to everybody!

Nice fish Adam. Thanks for the pics.
Were you able to keep any?

All too large to keep. Fish weren’t injured and released with a large tail splash and they were gone. Hopefully go on to spawn many more

Let us know how you did!

I did well, started out calm, got windy and rainy later. Pulled these by Sandy Hook.

Anybody else venture out?

I'm going down to Sandy Hook this afternoon, catch a couple hours before high tide. Hear they're all up and down the shore there.
Nice catch for you!!

//newjerseyhunter.com, //Njfishing.com, //grumpystackle.com and //thefisherman.com report that big bass are being caught from Sandy Hook to Barnegat Inlet on live bunker. A party boat caught and released 85 bass > 30 lbs each. I caught 11 carp in my last 5 Millstone River carping trips. Maybe I’ll go fishing 🎣 at Manasquan tomorrow. I only caught one 29” striped bass in the Manasquan surf this year.

I read a couple of those sites, thought you might have the inside scoop lol. Thanks. I’m gonna try my best to get back down this weekend. I’ll post back. You do the same please, and thanks.

Yeah, the new regulations make it pretty hard to hit the 3" slot. Good Luck and Tight Lines.

Ain’t that the truth… usually fish are too small and need tossed back. Hurt to toss a “too big to keep” fish. Oh well, hope that fish helps spawn lots more stripers…

Nice Bass Adam. A little bit snotty out there but the Sea Ox is a good boat. They're catching over slots at the Hook, off the beach. Thanks for sharing.

Wow nice fish!!! Hopefully the weather is nicer this weekend than it was when I was last down!

Thanks, I see you’re from Jersey. Any word about the migration? Are the stripers still north or care to share any secrets?

That question for NJ219bands

36”, didn’t get a weight but just a loose guess around 40 lbs. was using Penn 50 reel, 60 lb test, and caught that on an umbrella rig. Interesting had other rigs going with live eels and they went for the artificial.

23’ center console sea ox can handle some snot.
