Thanks again for posting Uncle Joe's poem, pigiron. Really triggered a lot of memories. Here's a brief anthology video of the lyrics: https://youtu.be/UojVEDFfq-k?si=mGezCcqvPz6a1EaM
This wasn’t one of my kids, it was my dad. In the late 70s there was a song titled Hot Child in the City. After listening to it dad looked at me and said”Why would anyone sing a song about Hog Jowls in the City?” Dad is gone, but every time that song comes on I remember his question.
Picked this Goodall reel up at an estate sale. Inside is clean and operates smoothly. Made sometime in the 50s. Don’t know that I will use it, just thought it was kind of neat.
I can’t find anything on that one…looks nice, though!
I only found an approximate date and that it might have come from France. Figured with all the knowledge this group has, post and see if anyone knows anything about it
Purchased this at an estate sale and hope someone can tell me something about it. It is a Lasso reel and may have come from France in the 40s. I don’t know if I have a diamond or just a reel I thought was cool looking.

Each of the grand daughters caught one. May not have been very big but they were tickled. Still at that stage of quantity over quality.
Vacationing in Belize with our two sons and their families. Went out fishing mid morning and caught two barracuda, two Spanish mackerel and one Bonita. First barracuda I have ever caught. The barracuda has some nasty teeth.
Little late on this. 5 lb. 2 oz. Mountain Whitefish caught in 1983 on a size 12 Whitefish fly topped with a maggot. At the time it was an all class world record, it has since been beaten. It is still the Washington state record. Only Mount I have ever had done
