I had a friend who would respond "Can't see it from my house", or "Good enough for a town this size", or "Good enough for the girls I go with" Unfortunately he wasn't always kidding.
My Dad too, as I was growing up and in a hurry to get it done, always stated "Never time to do it right the first time, but always time to do it over". Dad was a carpenter, those were good words. Nothing worse than being called back when a few extra minutes would have made it right the first time.
I try to delete anything I don't recognize. Years ago I was burned by what I thought was a message from UPS. NOT. The next day I received a message that my computer had been corrupted and that for a fee, the sender could fix my problem. I waited a day too long to get my computer to the someone I thought could make it right. Had I acted immediately, he thought he could have helped. No such luck. My files were gone.
But do they, did they fish?

Excellent post. My childhood in South Dakota was a carbon copy of what you wrote. Often recall wondering what my Dad's answer to my request would be. If I thought it might be NO, I didn't pursue it. Those truly were the "Good old days".
Sabrinia's cat, I believe was named Salem.]
If I'm not mistaken, there are Muskie in the Ponds on Hwy 81. Catch and release only. Don't confuse them with a Northern Pike which is legal.
Amazing how your memory can recall things from that long ago. Hadn't thought of most of them since I was a kid.
Great project.
A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush. Soups on.
Unfortunately, my best luck has been at Walmart.
Try checking with the Sportsman's Cove in Webster. They should have a pretty good idea where the fish are biting.
Lots of traffic headed for West Bend. Jigs and minnows.
Hope you get a response. Would guess most on the river would be fishing for Walleye right now.
Have had some winter kill in the Miller area.
Looks like the perfect fishing boat. Buy a paddle, and a tolling motor. Make sure the plug is in and you have a life jacket. You should be able to take it out by yourself. First couple runs I would stay relatively close to the dock just in case you have to paddle back. Buy an anchor. You are in for a treat. Good luck.
It was just the most current report I could find. However, I spoke with Game Fish and Parks this morning and the individual said that things have been and are picking up. Two friends went to West Bend in a boat on Wednesday and limited out on Walleye (2nd time this week). All the fish were milking males in about 12 feet of water. They were using minnows on jigs. They were using depth finders and had GPS. Evidently they were fishing at a point that the depth dropped off rather quickly. They must have been in the old channel because they said they snagged up on trees and lost a few lures. I'm guessing their best luck was between 10:00 and 2:00. Good Luck
