The are around Cherokee NC for trout. I also believe you can buy a one day license out of state pretty cheap. Go to Pautzke bait YouTube channel. They profile streams and areas and tell you exactly where they are. I have used them when going to new areas and stood on the same rocks they were on based on pics and caught fish.

Gordon, Since you know Lake Oolenoy, have you also fished Pinnacle Lake right next to it? Not for now as the place is packed for July 4th, I hear there are trout and warmouth bass stocked.

I fly fished a lot years ago in Colorado, trout, Maine small mouth bass. May need to dust those off. South Carolina in the North West Corner does has mountains in the 3200 foot range. The picture is Table Rock, with non fishing reservoir in front, Table Rock Lake.

I just moved to the mountains of SC, I will fish for anything, any solid recommendation as to locations to start, stream or small lake (only have a small boat) would be best.

Has anyone fished lake Oolenoy at Table Rock State park with any success? I have a small inflatable boat, caught nothing, first time out, no structure etcetera. Advice?
