Thank you RJS for your comments.
Yes it's probably a good idea for the guide, I have done the fly and clear bobber back in my younger years. We have a few flies, clear bobber, and waders as well.
We also might try renting a boat and fishing for those mac's as well.

We are going to the truckee river for next week 5/16 - 5/22. I have only driven through and never fished it.
Vacation rental is right on the river and looking for any recommendations. tips, or techniques. Don't have fly fishing gear only spinning gear.
Might try renting a boat at donner lake or lake Tahoe as well. Possibly a guide trip.

Hello fellow anglers, new to the site here.
I am an avid fishermen in freshwater and saltwater.
I have a 100 ton masters captain license and have fished from the west coast of California to Panama, Hawaii for 20 years big game, love fishing high country streams and lakes for trout, fishing variety of lakes for largemouth bass, fairly new to fishing stripers but want to go more often. I feel as I am a fishing enthusiast looking to go fishing for any species. I practice catch and release on almost all fish, there's many fish in saltwater that are really good eating but as much as possible I release them too.
Barbless hooks in many areas.
This Covid 19 closed many lakes across California and our Nation but they are slowly starting to open up with social distancing a must.
Looking for some areas in central California for stripers this week if anyone wants to chime in on some knowledge of anywhere fish able.
Tight lines and good times to all of you.
