Where can I catch fish this time of year?
I recently saw a lot of photographs of a fellow who caught a bunch of big bass at Lake Nimrod. Although he had very sophisticated and expensive sonar equipment. But he said he caught a lot of them where a person with normal stuff might fish like lay downs, Rocky points, edges of grass and stuff like that
Way to go! That must be very satisfying to catch it on your own little lure!
Check out a product called Tommy tape. I have used it on a couple of my fishing rod handles and it works great. I had the same situation on two rods. I don't have photos and they are packed away right now. Just check out Tommy Tape.
I grew up crappie fishing here in central Arkansas at Lake Ouachita, DeGray Lake, Greer's Ferry Lake, Lake nimrod etcetera. Often times we hauled in boatloads of crappie with all the ice chest full and them flopping in the bottom of the boat. I never saw anything smaller than 6 lb monofilament, often 8 or 10. I guess things are more advanced now. The only time I saw anything smaller than 6 lb monofilament was the leader on the end of my dad's fly rods.
Now that I have read the replies I see that I can get them at Amazon. Thanks

Very nice. Do you make these? It looks a little pricey but very well made.
I often fish from a kayak, but would never want to fish along a bank where people are bank fishing. I get in my kayak, or formerly in my canoe to get away from such stuff! Got some very strange kayakers and canoers in your neighborhood.
I do have some catching up to do
Everyone gets lucky every once in awhile. It put a smile on my face
Yes I think it says I live in Benton, Arkansas. Saline County. That's friend of the Saline River.....
And it fits into my minivan, so if I want to go wade fishing I can lock it up and not have to worry about somebody cutting it off the top of my vehicle. All my fishing gear is on the left side of the boat. I have all that other space for tools or camping gear. Cool. I just got this van a few days ago. It is Super Deluxe and everything works perfectly it's a cream puff. I will be making a trip to Crooked Creek before long.
It is a simple Old Town Vapor 10 fishing model.
