Has the Crappie bite started in Northeast Georgia - west of Atlanta
I'll be there next Tuesday
Have not tried Rousseau. Any suggestions - where put in - where in the lake - best time? I am eager to learn
Me too, from Clermont, FL. Where are the specks, crappie, etc?
Where can I find the crappie (or other pan fish) around south Lake county? What is best time of year?
Dave.
I'm late to say, but "Thanks - Very helpful".
I am a Georgia crappie guy. Sometimes at night with floating lights and minnows. Last two outing we trolled with jigs. Spring trip, 11 am - 3 pm on a lake, we took home 84. Trip two weeks ago, sun-up to noon on Wedowee River in AL, took home 113. Water temp was 55.
Last time I was out in on lake in Groveland water was still 72. I'll look forward to 60 temps. Thanks again.
When does crappie season run (from - to) in Central FL?
At what water temp can I start catching by trolling jigs?
When do they go on bed?
Me too - fishing north of SP
But I will be operating out of an 12ft jon-boat close to shore.
What might I catch in November? How best to do it? Where?

Nothing like a fresh batch
I AGREE!!!!
I am cooking up a batch tonight from our last big catch - 84 in the cooler in 3.5 hours in N. GA.
Soooo, after two days, my report - Day 1 evening incoming tide - not one strike, no matter what I tried (peeled shrimp, 4 different lures). Day 2 early morning, late afternoon, and evening incoming tide - about 3:30 pm Lady fish came rushing in, hitting anything that shines instantly. Caught more ladyfish than ladies in a bridge club. It became too much trouble. Not one hit from anything else, whether lures, cut bait, shiners.
BUT, I had two days at the beach with my wife - she is the best catch!!!
Ironically, I just bought a lure today that looks like that. I'll try it.
Plan to be slightly south of Clearwater on Monday (in Belleair Beach) Tuesday to surf fish.
Any advice, suggestions you can give will be appreciated.
What is running/. Best bait? Best artificial?
Fish fry and birthday cake...sounds great!
Pink rubber 2". Yellow with black eye jig head and fuzzy tail, Black rubber with twirling yellow tail. Black rubber white underbelly and no tail.
Bought 8 dozen minnows, used only two, but came home with 84 crappie.
We thought we would try trolling with jigs first, then default to minnows if needed.
We hit a hot spot. Every time we went round the circle, we brought in 5+
Looks like we did not need minnows, so we dumped them to feed the fish for our next trip.
A fun day, by God's grace.
