OK. That's specific. Thank you.
I understand that you use All Terrain tires and like Discount Tire stores. Why AT rather than All Season?

Ok...help me understand. 2009 pickup and tires have a 2008 data code? What does that even mean? Get some Goodrich AT radials.
Easy to understand - the tires carry a code showing they were made the 32nd week of 2008. The truck is a 2009 model which means it was manufactured some time between mid-2008 and mid-2009 as most models are introduced prior to the calendar year.
But back to my question - WHY do you recommend AT radials as opposed to an All Season light truck tire?
Salt or brackish water in Cocoa Beach.
Head west on 520 and you can shore fish the St. Johns River. Great bass fishing.
Good luck!
Also recognize that Goodyear and Cooper aren't the only tires manufactured in America. Foreign owned, e.g. Michelin, can be manufactured in the USA.
Of greater interest to me than brand and place of manufacture s the type of tire.
Thanks all.
That's my thinking a well. I'm not going rock crawling nor am I going dune busting. Just the occasional boat ramp.
As to replacement, the tires only have 21,000 miles on them but, being of 2008 vintage, the tread is weather checked. The sidewalls are perfect. My thinking is that they will chunk before blow out.
OTOH, the TPMS sensors are 1+ years old and the batteries are dying. At $100/tire replacement (sensor, labor, balance), it seems appropriate to replace tires.
My Frontier is RWD only.
I'm surprised several are recommending All Terrain over All Season. Why?
Thanks. I can't seem to find the 4WD button ...
I just got a 2009 Nissan Frontier and the tires will need to be replaced as they are the originals with a 2008 data code (!). I tow a Bass Tracker infrequently so not much time pulling up boat ramps. Concrete ramps are typical.
Are you guys using All Terrain type tires, All Season, or what?
Thanks for your experiences.
I'm relocating from Satellite Beach, FL down to Lake Placid,FL.
Home contract is in place.
Look to chat with fishermen in the Lake Placid area. Particularly Grassy Lake.
Thanks, all!
Laura:
Great fishing in and around Melbourne FL.
Surf fishing is usually good although too cold right now to do much.
Sebastian Inlet fishing is famous.
Catch a head boat out of Port Canaveral.
Fresh water is great.
Stick Marsh is within 45 minutes and is world renown.
St Johns is pretty good. Put in at Lake Washington and go north or south or just bank fish.
Brackish, e.g. Indian and Banana Rivers is said to be good but I haven't fished it for 40 years due to pollution.
Your mileage may vary.
Larry
Damn. Has your wife got a sister? With a boat?
Send picture of boat, please.
Yes, Fishbites on a pompano rig w/2 hooks. Often catch whiting two at a time.
If you want live bait, go to sand fleas.
I'm in Satellite Beach. The wind has stirred the water up so not much point in fishing right now (1/03).
BTW, why do folks like to reply with "I have no idea"? Does that add value to the conversation?
