Seems like we all do love Puerto Vallarta! Well, I will be definitely coming back here next year. Preferably with my family again, but this time I will spend much more time on fishing and fully exploring this area, as well as some other surrounding terrains as well. It's nice to have someone from Mexico here. I really love this country as it's very beautiful in basically every part of it.

Amazing nature, great beaches, although not sure if such a warm climate would suit me for a long-term living as I am from rather Northern areas, used more to snow than having to take a shower three times a day, hah!

Hi! I have recently been to Puerto Vallarta with my family, and well, as both me and my wife are fishing enthusiasts, we couldn't pass on the opportunity to try fishing in one of the best locations.

It has surely been hot out there, making the fishing both extremely fun as well as demanding. It wasn't easy to fish on the boat for several hours straight in such humidity, but a lot of cold water, some cola zero and beer (for my wife) has surely made it much easier to bear :) As far as the catches go, I can't say it went as good as I hoped it will, but I wasn't 100% motivated and prepared either.

Although, we did catch some Yellowfin Tuna and Black Marlin of which I am very proud and have been longing to catch it for quite some time.

Apart from fishing, I really urge you to take some time and explore the area as it's really beautiful. I'm not that much of an explorer, but my wife has surely hiked quite a lot and she was really amazed.

I'm not familiar with the Klinkhammer either, so I will surely check it out. Thanks a lot for a recommendation guys - this is definitely the best place to get some inspiration and idea on what to focus our fishing experiences on in the future. Anyway, to answer the question in the topic - the smallest I have used was #20 and wow... it was already extremely small, so going for 14 seems like an impossibility to me, hah.
