I remember the odors of-
-caps snapped in a Roy Rogers pistol
-new fallen snow
- Lifeboy soap
- wild blackberries on the vine
- sun dried bedsheets
- school lunch box
- a wet happy dog

It was working fine until someone decided it needed fixing.
good question I’ve got the same problem- Where Is Washington???
Never seen a small mouth in a creek. They like larger flowing waters with a rocky or sandy bottom.
I stand corrected. Almota canyon is a mile or so below the dam. And suggest keeping an eye out for rattlesnakes in the rocks and backwater colverts along the railroad tracks.
Small mouth in the slack water coves and enough carp to walk across the river without getting your feet wet.
I’ve seen some monster catfish taken above the dam near the grain elevators at Almota.
And when the sun comes out onBlack lake- more idiots on ski dos than flies on a dead horse.
You can fish the Palouse that flows through the middle of Pullman and Raney Park that’s always got some action on Saturday night.
Get there early parking is limited. No place to fish from shore.
That’s a new topic. Friend of mine and I had a successful morning on some popular water and while we were headed back to the resort dock he said ,“Take off the lures and put on something else.” I was puzzled until we were tying off and noticed some fellas who strolled out on the dock admiring the business end of our rods.
No smelt netting on the Cowlitz this year. I suspect this goes for
The whole Columbia River system- both states.
A pity.
Yup, dip netting. Fry ‘em up don’t worry about cutting head off or cleaning, enjoy just like corn on the cob.
Great way to stink up a house. But pan fried smelt…yum.
