Has any one had their side view on one side go dark? The last two times out the left side has gone dark or can just barley see it. Is it just a transducer problem?

I seen a video that said to change the frequency from 1120 kHz to 455 kHz and his worked them. I have both a 93 and a 73 that I have networked together running off the same transducer and it does the same thing no matter which one so shouldn’t be a unit head problem. I changed the frequency to 455 kHz and will try that next time out to see if that works before I change out transducers but would rather run in the 1120 kHz.

Here’s what it looks like. Some times it goes black and others it comes back but not as dark. I unplugged and re plugged in the transducer connections already and does the same thing.

If the water is shallower that’s when it will show up dimmer and deeper it is black.

Are inflatable boats worth the investment? Are they safe for saltwater fishing. Are electric motors good? What are the safest punncture proof brands?

I used inflatables for fishing in fresh and salt water for years with no negative problems. I had three different inflatables and all were run by outboard motors ranging in size from 10-20 HP. All of the inflatables I had were fabricated from hypalon, and the last that I owned was a RIB which had a fiberglass hull, with inflated tubes(similar to what's used by state police and Coast Guard).
They are extremely stable and light weight. I ran all three, which ranged in length from 10-12 ft. in the ocean, but you have to be choosy about the weather and water conditions. I strongly recommend them but they are not cheap.

I was wondering if anyone owns a Ranger 620 and what truck do you tow it with? My husband and I just bought a Ranger 620 (we previously owned a Ranger 520). We own a 2019 F-150 V8 5.0 L. It also has a 6 inch lift with mud tires. It had no trouble towing our 520. But my husband just took his first road trip with the 620- an 8 hour trip with the 620 and told me he barely made it home. He said The truck started making noises and struggled to go above 45 miles per hour. Now he is taking about trading in his truck for a Ram or a Tundra. We can’t really afford a 3/4 ton truck but don’t want to go through the hassle (and money) of trading in this truck we just bought last year if it could still potentially have the same issues? The boat only weighs 5,000 lbs and when I look it up online it says the F-150 can tow up to 11,600. Sorry for the long post but so stressed right now and don’t know what to do! Thank you!

More people should pay attention to what Jeremy had to say. The level attitude of the trailer and the oversize tires could very well be the primary problem. Depending on how much oversize the tires are could change the gearing ratio completely. If the truck owner still has the original tire set, he might try to see how the truck tows with them reinstalled.

I've fished the north jetty at Shark River inlet and have caught stripers in past years. I generally cast plugs rather than use live or cut bait. I was there today with no success but the striper migration(from reports I've read) is just getting started.

If you're looking for something small, you might consider an inflatable. I have a 11 foot RIB,(an inflatable with fiberglass hull) with a 18 horse outboard that is great for lake, river, and even ocean on calm days.
