thanks . . .
it was high and fast in may last year, too . . . tough to fly fish for sure, and even using bait or lures is a challenge . . .
may consider options like baum lake . . .

I’m being told that Baum is pretty good now

Good fishing on both sides of the bridge right off the hwy. easy trail to access the creek. Also Cassel is most always loaded with fish all the way down to Baum lake

Water high and fast been fishing for 2 days not many fish even though it has been planted. I’ve been fishing around old station above and below we have a cabin on the creek so I don’t travel much farther. The fish that do bite are all pretty small

any reports on hat creek . . .
is the water flowing fast and high because of snow melt or is it still at a fishable level ???
heading up there in 10 days . . .
also, any thoughts on spots in the area that are good fishing ???i have a cabin on hat creek and the water is flowing fast and clear. Pretty tough to fish last week. Most holes are under fast current need quite a bit of weight to get down. We caught several trout but all were pretty small. This week we should see 90s this week. I would imagine the water will stay high and fast.
Good luck
thanks . . .

Opening day was extremely slow at Hat Creek I think the water was too fast and high. Also the trout tended to be very small like 6 too 8 inches. But it was a lot of fun no matter.
The fisherman’s pancake breakfast was exceptionally fun. Lots of great raffle prizes given away

Too bad Mama Bear wasn't around to take them out of the gene pool.

Been charged and brushed once by old Bruin all unprovoked, I would have to say that is pretty stupid.

Talking trout tomorrow morning,
Opening Day, both boys and my grandson will be there with me. Getting our lines wet at Hat Creek and staying at our new cabin. Should be a great time with big trout big fires and big pancakes. Yeeha

Depends on what took place in that 30 min. If I had a few good strikes, I would hang around. If not, move on. Typically, if nothing happens in the first 15 minutes, I move. maybe not far, but I move.

I change them out as soon as I get stuck and snap the line, which is about every 15 casts

Hello stagers,
I have a large amount of Frosted Flakes that no one will eat. Instead of feeding them to the birds 🐦 I was wondering if anyone had a recipe for fish bait using Frosted Flakes?
Please share the ingredients and process.
Thank you 😊
Commander Bell out 👍

I don’t know but who doesn’t like Frosted Flakes
