I was in many villages when I lived up there but I never made it to Adak. But I know that in many villages they cling to the old ways. The ones that are left anyway. Its a dying culture. Hell it's a dying arctic as far as that goes!
All of the above my friend, all of the above. If its tasty, I'll fish for it. Thanks for the info. I have started a journal on account of my age!
Copper River salmon. Brook trout. Arctic greyling.
You are asking the wrong guy. Hence "new kid in town". But I know this; I only target fish that I'm going to eat! And I can eat a lot of fish.
Cool. I just cast my line out in the street. Can't wait! Should I get the skillet hot now, or wait a bit?
So that's what I've been doing wrong! Thanks. Keep those tips coming!
After some thought, I believe you meant Ulu knife. And yes, those knives are incredible once you get used to them. I watch 2 Inuit woman dress a thousand pound moose in about a half an hour! They do fish even faster. But alas, I'm just a poor white boy with a filet knife.
Not yet. Am I missing something?
I recently joined up with this outfit and I gotta say that this site is rapidly becoming one of my favorites. You guys and gals really crack me up, in addition to having good fishing advice. I relocated to the Southwest from Alaska and I am totally new to these fish and how to catch them. But not new to fishing. I am wintering at the LTVA in Winterhaven, CA. We have the Colorado river and all of its backwaters, plus all of the canals that flow around here. Seeking any tips or advice you can send my way. Thanks in advance. Happy Fishing Everyone!
