Went carping in 72 degree Carnegie Lake this afternoon on a hot, sunny day with a light south wind before a cold front. Threw out canned whole kernel corn 🌽 for chum, then caught and released 4 bluegills, 3 white perch and a largemouth bass with a 1/32 oz twister tail jig on 2 lb test line. Also caught 2 musk turtles 🐢 and a 20” 4.5 lb milt leaking common carp that swallowed my hook. A big carp stole my 3 hook rig by wrapping my line around a downed tree, then breaking off. As you all know I caught some nice Trout yesterday. I made a mess of filliting the big one and just gutted and cut the heads off the rest. They were too big to fit in a pan without it, but would go on a grill just great.
ANNYWAY, I took all the guts, heads and skin and bones out to this stump bout 70 yards out in the forest back of my house.
I walk down the bear trail a ways and then go bout 40 yards off the trail to this big stump .
I put all the pile on that stump and left it ovetnight.
Today I went to check on it and there wasn't a single scrap of anything left there. They must have even licked the stump.😳😂👍
Just thought some of you would like to know.
I have a pretty good relationship with them.
They stay outta my house and I leave them alone. Even feed them from time to time.
Haven't seen one this year yet. But I still have all my bear boards down.😁👍🤠

What a beautiful day ahead. It's 60° now and looking to reach 80° and sunshine. These are the days we've been waiting for!

While I should be playing hookie and going fishing today, I'll be hanging on a ladder running refrigerant linesets and wiring condensing units.. Yippee!!

Memories

Three elderly ladies sit in a diner, discussing their health. One lady says, "You know, I'm getting really forgetful. This morning, I was standing at the top of the stairs, and I couldn't remember whether I had just come up or was about to go down."

The second lady says, "You think that's bad? The other day, I was sitting on the edge of my bed, and I couldn't remember whether I was going to sleep or had just woken up!"

The third lady smiles smugly. "Well, my memory is just as good as it's always been, knock on wood," she says as she raps on the table. Then with a startled look on her face, she asks, "Who's there?"

Went carping in 70 degree Carnegie Lake this evening during a sunny, cool nor’easter. Threw out a can of corn 🌽 for chum, then caught a 6 lb common carp on my first cast for this year. Then caught a 14 lb common carp on my second cast. After catching a white sucker, I landed a 10 lb common carp on my last cast. As I walked to my car with my rods and bucket 🪣, a young woman went to my fishing 🎣 spot, knocked over my bucket of fish 🐠, then tried to kick the fish back into the lake. I returned before she was successful. NJ people suck. I gave the four fish to Wendy’s. A fisherman from Virginia netted my two biggest fish. I used my last can of whole kernel corn 🌽 from last year.
