Henry I got her on a 10ā black worm dragging it on the bottom very very slowlyā¦I catch most of the bigger bass this way.

Great catch Berreta!!!
You do know that fish broke the state record.
Bob Eisele's state record largemouth bass was taken from Menantico Sand Wash Pond in Cumberland County in 1980. The 10 pound, 14 ounce largemouth was taken on a homemade bucktail with a yellow Mr. Twister.
Yes I knew that but didnāt have my scale calibrated or did I want to keep this girl so yes we took some measurements and weighed her and let her go..
I am in the process of getting quotes on getting her mounted..Any suggestions?
Iām in northern NJ and usually catch Large mouth Bass in the 3 to 4 lb range and got one last year that was 6 lbs.
At that time I was my best PB and my 12 year old grandson got one in the same lake that was just over 5 lbs!
This lake we fish at is around 50+ acres and private. The Bass are the predators here as no pickerel. Only fish in this lake is blue gill, perch, bull heads and of course Large mouth.. fishing is always good..
Well we went down to the dam one afternoon and I hooked into this girl and what a fight. Glad my grandson was there to see and help me land this girl as I had to lay on the dam and reach in to get her out of the water..
She was 12 1/2 lbs just a catch of a lifetime..She was 28ā long with a girth of 21 1/2..
I got another tip from a guy yesterday as he was saying to try a thinner gauge hook..worth a try..
Thanks for the help guys!! Picked up a Fenwick, it just felt better so I said Iāll take it. Now just need to get the reel on it and test it out hopefully this weekend..
Whatās the spinning real of choice out there now? Oh and keep it in that $100 range..
Iām looking for a new Bass rod for lake fishingā¦Long story short I lost my 2nd very large Bass over the weekend and I got to see I think is the issue. I got him up to the boat and the hook was just stuck in the bottom of his mouth but not penetrated threw the barb. Bad hook set..Yes he shook and down he went. Looked to be about 6 to 8 lbs. After crying last night about it I got to reading some articles about poles and Iām using the wrong pole.. (yes the hook is very sharp) So looks like I need a med/heavy fast or extra fast pole so I can get some power to set the hook better.
If Iām on the right track can someone here suggest a pole thatās better and wont put me in the poor house? Iām looking to spend around $100 or so if possible as I see a lot of poles for upwards of $400+
Thanks Guys
I think the flame repressor is special shorts in case your sitting on a old style flammable seat cushion and let one go so you donāt start a fire wile sitting in your boat..
Well Guys I got my Boat safety certificate on Sunday.. I have to say its fairly involved with what you need to know. Jet skis, sail boats, alcohol, dingies and booieās,military ships etc..8+ hrs on line course and the in person test of 60 question...I did surprisingly well I though but I did get one wrong..
Hope to get out in my new boat this weekend.. Thanks for the help guys!
Thanks I see it now..I need to take a safety course also?? Itās been years since I fished on state water I mostly fished private lakes and ponds..
I just l[ooked it up. For less than 16 feet, lights must be serviceable and used at night, sound signal device(horn, whistle),backfire flame repressor, fire extinguisher and a pfd for each occupant.
Where did yo find that info? Link?
Boats here Guys but now have to wait 4 weeks to register it!!! PIA
I still need to install a couple rod holders and my fish finder..

It depends on how big your boat is, on the regulated equipment. Lights are only necessary at night.
Itās a 10 foot twin troller...Lakes and ponds is it..
According to NJ what is needed to have in a boat for greasy water? I know everyone needs a life vest and a throw floating device and I already have a license. Do I need lights etc? Thanks Guys
Thatās funny, My grandson is my fishing partner and I usually give him my phone when something is screwed up and he fixes it right up and he just turned 10..LOL!!!
