I just got a pair of simms freestones for Christmas and it is my first "expensive" pair of waders I've purchased.

I want to make sure I protect my investment, so I wanted to see if they're things I could do to make sure they don't leaked due to poor care over time.

I know hanging them up after use is good practice but is there anyother sort of maintenance I could do keep them to keep them healthy longer.

Hey guys! So I moved back to my old neighborhood and there is beautiful lake behind my house. I tried fishing there a couple of times but nothing big enough to bite. I see birds, turtles, and the occasional gator, but no fish. I was wondering if it’s ok/possible to introduce native fish to lake. Messing up the ecosystem is a big no no, but if they are native fish it should be ok right?

Why are stainless steel guides used on moderate end saltwater rods? Why not anodized aluminum or titanium?

Had a great year catching bass, and now that winter is hear I went out yesterday and tried catching some trout in a tiny state stocked slow moving stream. No luck. Tried power bait, salmon eggs cheese flavored, spinners, rapalla minnow, ect. Even some tiny fake worms with garlic spray. Others around me caught a few, I think maybe with cheese. Just letting it sit there with a bobber. Any suggestions would be great. I have the next 9 days off and catching one is high on my bucket list.

Right hand fisher here who cast spinning reels and then reels in with right hand. Just feels natural to me but I think it’s the unconventional way of doing it.

Is there anything I’m limiting myself from by doing it this way?

When fishing catch and release I prefer not to use treble hooks because of damage to the fish and they are hard to remove.

However with regular hooks I have not found a way to keep the bait on the hook consistently. It’s likely to fly off miscast or not last more than a cast or two.

Any tips?

Is it true that you have to switch to bottom sticking and extremely slow moving baits in the winter and that paddle tail swim baits should not be used for river smallmouth?

I really like my paddle tails, and find them extremely easy to use and cover a lot of water. You hear a lot of people say smallmouth will not really “chase” moving baits this time of year, and that you must work the bottom very slowly using a ned type bait to get bit. How accurate is this?

My local store carries power pro so that's what I've been using. But I want to ask, what is your favorite braid line? Not which strength but which brand? What is your first choice, second choice, and last choice. Meaning, a brand you would stay away from. Thank you for your comments.

Anyone else sort of enjoy the off season in the sense that you don’t feel a burning obligation to go spend the entire day fishing and can just go out for an hour or two of bank fishing here and there?

It’s been a nice relief to be able to just enjoy fishing intermittently when it’s nice enough or the water level is good vs feeling like I was wasting any day I didn’t get an 8 hour float in.

I wish I had a better way of managing my summertime fishing so I was doing more than just floating but I find myself sort of addicted.

Do fish bite when it's raining? I want to go fish but it's raining hard lol. If there is even a slight chance to catch fish I'm going. Haven't caught a fish in a few weeks :(

Looking for brands and models that work and won’t break after a few uses. I’ve been having trouble finding a decent one. Preferably one that can fit in a backpack. Thank you!

Looking to get a quick Christmas gift for someone. What’s the brightest headlamp you guys have used? I’m aware coast makes some good ones but I don’t have any experience with them. Any suggestions?

The area where I live in is packed of little ponds and lakes into private territories. I would like to know how to properly get the permission to fish in someone’s property without being shot getting kicked out or getting in legal trouble.
