Thanks to everyone who has been kind enough to give me some tips about my back surgery. I feel really welcome on this fishing forum. I’ll be glad when I can post some fish pictures and talk about fishing instead of backs. Tight lines to everyone. Be safe and wear that life jacket.

Walgreens or Walmart, mostly just elastic But they do have them with stays which help a lot. And suspenders keep them from rolling.
I’m going today and buy one. Anything that eases the pain is worth it. Thank you.
Plumbob, don’t you just love fishing out of a kayak? I got started because two buddies were kayak fishing, and I shopped around until I saw this yak. and I bought it. They gave me some grief about the trolling motor, until we were going into a 15 MPH headwind. I took off and looked back at them. They were really struggling so I went back and told them if I pulled them back I didn’t want to hear anymore jokes about my troll motor. It wasn’t long after that one of them bought a troll motor.
I was hoping to be able to Crappie fish this fall and into winter, so that might be possible. Ain’t it a beauty... 🙂

Thanks graywullf. I’ve thought about looking into a back brace to give me some support. I didn’t know I could buy one. I’ll sure look into that. Thanks again. 🇺🇸🇨🇱
Worst thing you can do is sit too long or stand in the same spot too long. I realize you can’t keep moving all day, but if your back starts hurting you really bad, that’s when you need to get up and move around for a while, or go on a walk. I walk two miles everyday, weather permitting, and it really helps me for the rest of my day. I take two 500mg. Tylenol three times a day. I took Tramadol for a few weeks after surgery, but the VA cut me off because it’s considered an opioid. Anyway, it’s a day to day process and it will be that way forever. I just want to get back to fishing.
Thank you Sir. I appreciate it. Waiting on the ignore part.
Thanks Alabama Bill. Yeah, my back speaks loud and clear every day. Does the lower back pain ever get tolerable or go away. The end of this month will be a year. I had a fusion and insert in L4-L5. Thanks again AB.
I’ve been reading several posts for about a week and really enjoy the information shared. I’m a kayak fisherman but I haven’t been able to fish for the past two years due to two spine surgeries. I live near Houston, Texas, am 74 and love fishing fresh water or salt water. I’ll be very blessed when I can get out again. Every time I go in the garage I tell my yak it won’t be long. 🤔
The picture is the last time I fished. I was hauling a buddy back in because I have a built in troll motor and he paddles.
Anyway, I’ll try to post something more sensible next time. 🇺🇸🇨🇱
