I just googled "size 16 rubber boots" and got some sites. Good luck. My son also has a "good understanding" and we found boots for fire men worked for him.

Sometimes it seems even a DuPont Spinner wouldn't even work. :(

When I lived in Sitka. Alaska I used those same lures for halubut and rock fish. Also, I used big hooks as well. The really worked for me

Chech pawn shops and thrift stores for rod and reels
Wal-Mart for tackle. Give it away to a kid when you leave. Win-win that way.

I just got back from my 5th straight skunk, nothing all season. I go fishing to relax and don’t mind a skunk or two but this is driving me crazy. I fish with a rod and reel that I inherited from my grandfather that is too big for my spot and apparently am using just junk. And this morning I didn’t tie off my brand new lure properly and tossed it way out in the river.

I can’t afford a new rod and spent my few dollars that I don’t have dedicated to bills on a few lures and threw it away. At this point I think I’m just about to hang up the rod and watch grass grow since it is cheaper and just as exhilarating now.

Sorry for the rant, I don’t know what to do anymore.

One good place to find fishing rods and reels is Goodwill and/or thrift stores. Wal Mart has hooks. Dig up some and you are good to go.

When I fished on the West Coast in deep water I wore a life jacket
Now that I am in Florida and the Gulf where I fish is less than 50 feet and usually less than 10 feet I STILL wear one. Inflatable does not get in the way either.

I have used the nose oil method for 50 years. Still works.
