Yes you can, but it is not a fly rod.
If you want to fly fish then get a fly rod.
And yes you can put a fly reel on this rod.

Check out your local fly shop. They can guide you in the right direction.
I would suggest a 4 or 5wt 81/2 or 9’
and a fairly decent reel with a matching WF floating line.
Lines can be quite expensive, so let your pocketbook be your guide.
You should be able to get setup for about $125.00.
Then you got fly’s vest or pack fly box and a few tools, leaders and tippet.
Good luck.

I would go with at least a 9wt.
Let your pocketbook be your guide to how much you want to spend on it.
Any reputable manufacturer will do.
Also don’t forget your reel, make sure it has a good drag on it.I would recommend Galvan, when it comes to reels

No braid....get yourself a leader straightener, that should remove any kinks or memory problems.
Go with a 71/2’ tapered leader 5x or 6x and add a 2ft.piece of 6x or 7x tippet to the end of the leader and you should be all set.Use small flies, size 16 or 18.

Lake Guntersville Is in Alabama and is known for its big grass beds and great frog fishing.
Don’t know if they will be on frogs when you get there or not, but I would spool up with some 30lb braid and a stiiff 7’ casting rod and make sure you take some top water frogs sigh you.

There was also one called “Langley” which was a very nice reel at the time.

I agree with all the above...fly fishing is a “quite sport” and best done alone.
Not to say you can’t go with a buddy and compare notes when you get back to the car, like where did you fish, did you see anything coming off, did you catch any and what did you catch them on?

Pork trailers are no longer made.
Uncle Josh was bought out by Kaleins and they stopped producing it.
Was very expensive to make, and since Kaelins is a plastic company, they decided to make plastic trailers.
Plastic is just as good and you have more color combinations and shapes to choose from.Plastic also has more action.

Don’t really think they are agate.
They look like agate but are not.

Agate was the thing until carbaloy came out, but carbaloy was to heavy for the more modernized rod material so Fuji stated making the much more lighter material guides , which are still popular today.Even they have become more lighter and stronger for the mono and braids we use today on our reels.
Off shore fisherman probably use roller guides on most of their rods.
