The Hula Popper was one of my first lures in 1953, along with a Lucky 13, Crazy Crawler and Hawiian wiggler. I caught most of my fish on the Lucky 13.

That’s how I feel. I have all his guns & ammo, fishing equipment, tools vehicles. Just having those items, every time I touch or see, reminds me of all the good things & times. As I’m sure is the same for you.

Absolutely MJC!

I’m hoping that the Eagle Claw doesn’t have the same end result !

I do too. There is something about being able to use something that belonged to you dad, it brings back fond memories. It isn’t like you have to use it every time you fish, just once in a while.

You guys are welcome. Its a pleasure to see how united we all are here on the stage. Bringing supporters and vets together is a good thing.

The miles may be between us all, but the caring is just a type of the keys or a dial on the phone and we know there is someone wherever we go in this country that has our back.

Amen! I think it is a deep rooted inbred patriotism, love for God, love for America and mankind that brings us veterans and our supporters together as brothers. Just my opinion.

He has an ultralite spin cast that I did just that with but the ending is kinda ironic. I took a couple friends out on the boat - we get set up in this cove - I throw out a #5 white rooster tail, started reeling in and wham. A 2lb lm. Well just as my buddies wife nets the fish - the reel broke on that reverse lever. Now it goes both ways without stopping. It’s on the wall right in front of our fishing bench
Thank you

LOL.

Eagle Claw is the manufacture, they are located in Denver, Colorado. They make rods, reels, fishing hooks, etc. and sell through various outlets.

It makes us old guys dig deep into our grey matter. Do you know how old the reel is? I’m having trouble finding out when it was made. My interest is peaked!

So here I go again. I don’t think it is an Ambassador reel. It is not shown in my book “Vintage Fishing Reels of Sweden”. The little gold lined circle on the side rings a bell but I can’t place it right now. I’m thinking from the molded side plate that is visible the reel probably has a manufacture date in the 70’s or 80’s. Could very well be wrong.

You got some good advice from Spirit. They are right this is old school, kinda like a 55 Chevy, don’t have power steering, power brakes or air conditioning, but really cool and gets you where you want to go. I still have and use Ambassador 5000 reels I enjoy them like my old 55 Chevy. Besides, every time you use that reel it will bring back memories of your dad, kinda like fishing with him. Voice of experience on that point.
