I’ve only fished for musky there. Expansive weed bed out to 10’ deep. The perch fishery is still pretty strong in the bay. Check the regs for this years limits. There must be perch in there. If that doesn’t work out, depending on the weather and the size of your boat, you could head SW toward Bay Shore Park to 2 mile reef, or south along the west shore to Long tail or little tail. Plenty of weed beds in those bays as well.

If smaller rivers are more to your liking there are 2 within an hour east of you. The Plover runs into the Wisconsin near Stevens Point, the Embarrass, a little further east is a more “wilderness” feel around Pella. Don’t remember any launches, just Schlesinger a canoe down the bank at road crossings. You’d want a second vehicle or a bike to get back to your drop in point. We had a little 2 horse on a square back canoe so we could run up and back. Thanks for asking about this, I have fond memories of a couple of trips up that way. Haven’t been there in awhile.

Stop in a bait shop. This time of year the go to walleye rig is a crawler harness. You could troll them in your kayak

Good advice by smelly andOJ. DuBay is an impoundment of the Wisconsinriver,so there is a wide variety of fish to be chased. There are many shallow bays and backwaters that will be warm and “algaed” this time of year so might as well be avoided. You could get a map to look for deep spots but since it’s a river the depths aren’t consistent. A map can help you follow the original river channel

DNR did a survey several years ago investigating the musky population crash in the Minocquachain. Findings inconclusive as far as I know but it’s Avery popular chain that gets a lot of fishing and recreational pressure. Tremendous development of the shorelines hasn’t helped as well.

I’ve had luck with smallmouth on several of the Apostle Islands casting to the first break with a crayfish crank bait at dusk.

Lake DuBay is a large impoundment. If you’re there for vacation, I’d book a guide for early in the trip. If you are a resident, section off the lake and try to learn it piece by piece season by season. Talk to the other fishers, we’re a friendly group up here in cheesehead country.

In the thick of the run try throwing every bait in your box that never caught a fish. Even a bare hook. My best was 14 fish in a row on the fox river in Green Bay

Go after the white bass run when the lilacs bloom. The bridge in Winneconne is a festival.

You are one lucky dude. I travel from Milwaukee a couple times a year to fish from the mouth up into town. Good smallmouth population. Walleye and musky use the river for spawning. The bay offers a multi species world class fishery. You’ll have years of pleasure learning the rhythms of the river and bay.

Pewaukee is the lake to go to if you want to catch a trophy musky, eater walleyes, decent large mouth and healthy pan fish

Lake Lawn Lodge or McIntyres resort on Lake Delevan might fit your needs. Haven’t fished it in awhile but it’s a good bass pan fish lake. Boats and pontoons are available in the area.

I take a picture of every document I send in or screen shot if done on line. I have a record of my transaction in my phone if I’m ever asked for it.

It’s been a long time since I fished the boundary waters. As I recall, we caught mostly northerns on a #5 standard Mepps.
