I agree
It’s not much for fishing.
Hensley is pretty good for bass fishing.
They charge based on Horse power.
Best fishing is by the falls and Kokanee near the dam.
Lake is full this summer or at least it was 2 weeks ago
Tenmile is starting to be good.
I just left the lake yesterday.
We saw nice bass swimming writhing two feet of our dock.
We threw a few lures but didn’t catch one.
The water is really clear compared to most years
Fishing is still slow.
My buddy Travis caught 1 bullhead catfish this week.
The Man at Stockade Market in Winchester Bay can hook you up.
He’s caught some from the bank.
He didn’t give up his spot but did say bank fishing.
I usually drop pots by boat right across from Salmon harbor by the pilings. Stockade market usually has good crab bait. Tuna heads he has seem to do great. I’ll be dropping pots Friday or Saturday. I’ll post how we do.]
Once the water slows and clears it’ll be better. If trolling, muddy cold water under 55 degrees requires a slower speed and brighter colors.
Muddy water makes it tough.
By next week hopefully it’ll get better.
I’m heading back to Oregon next week, watch for pictures. I’m hoping it clears up there as well and I can get some Salmon or nice trout. The Steelhead run is slowing down from reports. Good luck. If you want some trout and don’t mind a drive, try trimmer under the bridge by pine flat. We cast eggs up stream and let them drift down then reel in and repeat. We’ve caught really nice trout there.
We went to our Oregon house.
Got a little warmer Friday and we got a Bullhead.
By we, I mean my wife
Thanks Paul. We went from Reedsport to California. The Rivers are all flowing fast and muddy.
I’m hoping it clears up this week. I’m heading back to Winchester Bay. If the Salmon were running on the Rogue I’d spend a few days fishing It before I went North.
Last week was dead.
I’m hoping the fishing picks up with clear skies and a little warmer water.
Yesterday the lower Rogue was still pretty muddy.
I did see a few people fishing it
I agree, the water is fast muddy and still cold most places.
I haven’t been to McClure or McSwain this year. I’m at my Oregon home but I did see the Kaweah and it was fast and muddy and same for the SanJoaquin and Sacramento Rivers. Here in Oregon the Umpqua looked the same. We have a home on Tenmile lake and it’s usually excellent. We’ve caught one fish in 2 weeks. We fished Winchester Bay. No crab, no fish.
Next week it’s supposed to warm up a little but we’ll be back in California.
Welcome aboard.
Next month, Tenmile Lake fishing should pick up. Come and give it a shot.
It’s sad
They way over built. Mead supplies 4 States with water besides Vegas.
The problem isn’t as much drought as it is energy production and outflow.
Mcswain was usually better for trout.
Power bait or troll wedding rings.
