I freeze live cat in a Container of water until ready to clean and eat. Freezing them live keeps them fresh just like they came out of the water.
My name is Ken, 80 years old living in Ohio but from Indiana originally. Was in the Army as a helicopter crewman for 8-1/2 years and am a Vietnam vet. After my stint in the Army I used my aircraft repair experience as a civilian for 25 years traveling all over the world working on aircraft. I fished from my youth till my mid 20’s and my travels and work got in the way of fishing until just recently when I decided sitting on my posterior all day watching TV was a waste of time so I went crazy buying fishing gear for myself and my youngest son so I now go fishing almost every day and on weekends with my son. He works nights so the weekend is the only time he has free if his wife lets him.😊 Like most people I do not fish for any certain kind of fish, just whatever jumps on my hook. I do keep most eating size cat and everything else goes back in the water. Ran on to this forum by accident and glad I did. Lots of informative information passes through here now if I could find one that deals exclusively with southern Ohio It would make my day. Anyhow that is me in a nutshell. Y’all have a great day and a better tomorrow.
I wasn’t aware there was any edible fish other than cat or salmon. All other fish were just for sport fishing. You know, catch and release. Just kidding but seriously I have a freezer full of both cat and salmon which on the the average I have one or the other for dinner 4-5 times a week. I only eat wild caught Alaska salmon I buy and freeze all cat fillets in vacuum bags and the fresh dressed salmon I cut into meal sized portions, vacuum seal and freeze. Don’t get me wrong, I know there are many other fish that are good eating but I am just partial to cat and salmon, but if I go to Cracker Barrel I always have their trout if on the menu and if not you guessed it, I have catfish.
