Some of you know that I have been seriously looking for a well-used pontoon. I thought I had one close to home, 45 miles, away. The owner was a snowbird down in Ft. Myers, FL. He said that he would be back on Feb. 10th. I asked if he had anyone hot on it and he said, no, and then I said, well, put me on top of the list and call me when you get back. I gave him my phone number. He never called me back and I called him about 6 to 8 times, talked to his answering machine, nothing back. He must have gotten more money than he was asking for it.

Yesterday. I saw a 2019 Suntracker 2180, Tritoon, w/150 Merc. on it, with only 42 hrs, $14,700.00. Red Flag, too good of a deal. Something like that would sell for $50.000.00+. It was listed in two different towns, MPLS, and DesMoines, another Red Flag. It was on Craig's list, she said she was in vacation mode and she couldn't be messaged, so, I had to e-mail her. She replied saying, that she was a flight attendant for American Airlines and that Win Auto Transportation Co would take care of everything and the title work, and delivery it with a 5- day trial run. Money returned, if not acceptable, but you had to pay to have it transported back. No mention of where it was to be shipped from or where you had to return it. Another Red Flag. I googled the Auto Transportation Co. SCAM written all over it. Read the reviews, SCAM, usually vehicles. If you are buying anything pricey online, be careful!

My son was looking for a truck and found a deal to good to be true and it was. $1000 for a 2003 f150 in excellent condition and very low miles. I have the same truck and mine is worth $4000 in worse shape. Some lady was selling it and gave some song and dance story as to why it's so cheap. Nothing but a scam....

Trying to lighten the mood again today, we can only talk Russia so much.

So maybe you will get a chuckle or an Oh Wow with the post to follow.

What was minimum wage when you started that 1st job or raking leaves for the neighbor?

For me it was.

50 cents for sidewalk snow shoveling as a kid.

$ 1.60 at 16 years of age being a plumbers helper.

I was mowing lawns for 50 cents at an age of 11. I started in a gas station at 16 and was making $1.65 an hour. Moved to Oregon at age 18 and worked in a sawmill for $3.75 an hour. The minimum wage was still &1.65 hr.
So $3.75 was big money for me.

I blew the engine in my pickup truck and had a new motor installed. I can’t haul my boat until the new motor has been broken in (3,000 mi).
Meanwhile, I’m learning to fish from Frank Howard bridge in Tarpon Springs, FL.
I went fishing Tuesday for 1 1/2 hrs and caught these three beautiful trout. I had to release one that was over the limit, and a few got away. But all in all a wonderful day.
With the low cost of fishing from a bridge and the short amount of time required to produce this catch, I may never put the boat back in the water.

That's a beautiful catch you got there. Congratulations!!

Sure Pete, please PM me and we can exchange phone numbers if you like. The eastern sierras has been my place for over 50 years. So many places to go and so many more to explore. I'm going up for the early opener the first weekend in march. Bill

Thinking about some trout fishing in late April or May between Big Pine and Bishop with easy shore access lakes
Possibly Diaz Lake
I have a bit of a hard time getting around at 75 and mostly with a cane
Any suggestions would be appreciated
Thanks
Boat rental would be a pontoon boat

Go to the sand traps. I'm lone pine go west on Whitney portal for about a mile. As soon as you cross the canal bridge go left on dirt road for 1/8 mile. Also out of independence at the north end of town at the airport. Go about two miles on dirt road. Great fishing and easy access. Many others as well I can share with you. You can look up independence creek for directions also lone pine creek.

In high school my friend cleaned out his windshield washer container and RE routed a hose to his dash. He filled it with booze and when we wanted a drink he simply pushed the windshield washer button and held the cup under the dash. Cops never did figure that one out.

That's a great idea. I'm getting tired of holding that big bottle of jack when I drive. πŸ˜€

I would want at least 3 of them back.. I loved my 57 chevy, 1970 Monte Carlo SS 454, and my 1951 Olds Rocket 88. I never had a 69 Camaro but always liked the body style. The new ones looked similar so I went to buy one. The problem I had was I couldn't fit in the drivers seat worth a damn. Either I got way bigger or they made the car smaller. I have trouble getting in my wife's Impala so it is probably me. Im only 6'1" 240 lbs. But I just don't fit. Lol

I think cars are being made smaller than yesteryear. I know what your talking about. I found that to be the same with me

When they 1st came out, i loss the breaks on the company truck and turned a 3 speed on the tree into sync before hitting a house to prevent going over a hill.

Does that count?

Darn right it counts. In the heat of the moment or not.

Yeah I know what your talking about. I raised two stepchildren, boy and girl. They are good kids and turned out fine but I was no where ready to commit to that life at that time.
Good idea, call him up and tell him you really need his car for a few hours.

It was a 94, Bfe. Just loved the style of that year Metallic Blue.

Gave it to step son when i purchased a van. When he rolled it and we got the call from the police from the side of the road, i at least ask if he was alright before i asked about the car.

Told his mom she needs to go get him, i didn't want to see the car.

That's a shame. But you did the right thing by asking about him first.

Good idea Bfe, Jeremy put it out there on another post about our 1st vehicle and got me thinking as to how many vehicles we go through in our life. Then you bring up a good point for an add on.

To answer your question, would love to have my Cutlass back.

What year was it Plum? I also had a cutlass that I forgot to mention in my list. Mine was a '79
