Wife worked late so I cooked her supper. Stir fry veggies in teriyaki sauce. Stuffed mushrooms with goat and pepper jack cheese. Then blackened yellow fin tuna. Wife was happy. Thats all that matters.

Hello Paul,
I know about hatchery fishing because Charette lake, where I have fished north of me, has hatchery rainbows. The largest ones I have caught have ben caught on worms I raise. Without even looking at the map, I assume you also have lakes in that area.

Gene

Yes we have alot of good spots here

Hello Paul,
Coming here from Seattle, I have been told just today that your part of New Mexico is entirely different than the area we live in. I can see coming down with Linda in the fall when the maples are red in McKitrick canyon, which would remind us of Minnesota where we are both from. I regard the potential fishing as really a very special opportunity.
Thank you in your generosity
Gene

Ya I fished in georgia and texas we are a little different cause alot of our fish is hatchery grown

Hello,
We are retired to Las Vegas (NM) and I am hooked on fishing again after 30 years absence. This time with a kayak. I have just learned of this opportunity yesterday and it would seem that in fall visiting the Caverns, viewing the maple trees in McKitrick canyon and also using the kayak for fishing on a river for trout ( and lakes in that area) would make for a special trip.
I am really ignorant about trout fishing, have done so at Charette lake, and hope to acquire a lot of knowledge this coming year. I do have a permanent worm bed and the really larger (19"+ to 22") trout I have caught have all come on worms.
What fishing opportunities exist in your area? Would fishing in November be a good idea on the Pecos river? Would my worms work well there and what technique do you use when you are a. trying to locate fish on a river and also use the current to your advantage?

Thank you in advance.

Hello,
I have been told about the scenery near the Carlsbad caverns, in New Mexico (Mckitrick canyon). I would appreciate any experienced information on fishing the Pecos river near the Levees in November, in the Carlsbad NM area. I have been told simply that Rainbows, Browns and cutthroats are the different species in this area. I am a kayak fisherman.

Thanks,

Gene S.
