I haven't fished for salmon in 48 years. Now that I'm retired in the PNW, I'd like to catch them again. I have NO fishing gear at all. So, I have a couple questions. First, How "big are those two in the pic? Length and weight. They remind me of long ago. My folks and I went on a charter boat out of Neah Bay, WA, 1970, 1971 and all the gear was furnished. I seem to recall catching 30+ pounders in those days. From what I hear not so much anymore. So how "big" are these?
Second, and more importantly, for next year, what is a typical rig to start out on if I go offshore to fish? There is a plethora of gear on the internet, but have no idea what to choose or how to begin. Suggestions? Thanks, jefcon
