Thanks it’s a lot of fun and between clarion river and little Juniata sometimes it’s hard to make up mind on where to go both are a 2 hr drive for me but the clarion definitely has bigger fish the little J has more
To warm to hunt plus I have a deer in the freezer already so I grabbed the rod and drove to Ridgeway Pa caught 5 brownies today 1-18 incher 2-21 inchers a 22 incher and a 23 incher had a 6th one on but it fell off caught them on sculpin patterns high sticking with the 10 ft 7 weight fly rod hers some pictures the 2-21 inchers slipped out of my hands trying to get there picture all were let go to grow bigger
Went back to my hot spot on the river and got skunked moved down stream 3-400yds to the next rocky spot and caught 1 but a nice on at that this one was around 19 inches and caught it on a white Zonker with a red belly swung right in the slow water in front of what we call goose sh*^+t rock
So after that I went to Elk creek and watched guys pull steelhead up onto the bank they let them flip till they fell off and they kicked them back into the water if I’d known what they were driving I would of stabbed there tires
Got rained out today so headed to Walnut Creek near Erie caught them on pink and chartreuse sucker spawn netted 7 out of 13 in 2 hrs didn’t get pictures of 2 of them quite crowded then the water got dirty with tons of leaves
Also these fish are introduced into the river as fingerlings thanks to our fish commission then they spend a few years getting up to this size so we call them wild trout I caught one these guys could of swallowed
