Yea, my mom put a chain and pots and pans in front of the back door one night. When I got home about 1 or 2 o’clock, I knocked them down. She was up so fast, I never made it to my bedroom before she caught me. One of the times in my younger years of growing up.

I have thought a time or two about fastening line to a small hand held crossbow and launching my line way out in the lake fishing. Have one end fastened to a stake in the bank.

I am assuming it wasn't a Volkswagen. LOL

Don't tell us it was a pick up truck. I Would have lost for sure.

No, it was not a Volkswagen or a pickup. I cannot remember what kind of car it was, but I do remember that there were about 10 of us guys. Two cars.

Yes, a friend of mine who is older had bypass surgery plus a stint or two, has his cell phone programmed so his wife can trace where he is. Not because he is bad or anything. Just to keep up with him. He is always hunting. He is an expert bow hunter. Last year he went to Colorado and brought back a bear he shot at about 10 yards. Another friend of ours went to Main bear hunting. He said he ain’t gonna hunt with a bow. He uses his rifle. Took him about three shots to get his.

Back in the 1950’s in Texas we had a drought for about 8 years. It got so bad that the ground cracked open and I remember walking across the middle of lake Cisco. Small lake though, only a 90 ft. deep at the dam.

Lots of rain here too. Back in the 80’s we had so much that the local river flooded several roads and washed out one major bridge. Only had one way out of town for three days.

Peeing or polishing?

When I was younger the guys would travel to the blood bank in Abilene, Texas and donate. Wen through we would buy a bunch of beer and travel back home. When we were about home (50 miles), we had to stop. Our contest was to see who could pee over the hood of the car from side to side. Don’t remember if anyone ever won. Sorry, no fish story here.

I hate to hear about the fella too. About three years ago I went dear hunting by myself about 10 miles from home and never told my wife where I had gone. When time to leave the deer stand, about 4 ft off the ground, I opened the door and went to step down the stairs. I missed the first step and landed face first on the ground in a bunch of briers. It knocked the breath out of me and hurt like h####. Laid there for awhile knot knowing if I could get up. Finally I moved and got my feet under me and made it up. Got on home and never told her about it. It goes to show you that anything can happen and you do need to let someone know where you are going. Just like recently when I broke my leg, I had to call my wife on the cell phone and let her know where I was.

Besides eggs are more tenderer. Usually the only thing I get from a tongue is a lashing and some of the stuff that comes out is tougher than what what a chicken can eat let me tell ya!

When a kid visiting my grandparents house here in Mississippi, they had an outhouse. My uncle Bill did not like visiting there because it was rather discomforting to him since he was from the New Orleans area. One day he had to go to the outhouse and do his business. While sitting there he heard some chickens cackling under him. There was a hole down the side of the outhouse pit and that was where they went in. Upon seeing this he left and went back to the house and reported the occurrence. Therefor he never ate any more chicken or eggs from the place there there. In fact I do believe he never went back. I still like chicken and eggs. Especially chicken livers.

Years ago in Texas, I went to a restaurant and had a meal. When finished I gave the lady a big tip. I sat and waited while drinking coffee. She waited on another fella and he gave her a $5.00 tip and left. The next time I was in the guy said to me, “don’t try to out tip me.” The lady told me to keep coming back. I gave the same guy a big paper grocery bag full of pecans one day. The next morning I went to my car to go to work and there were three big bags of peanuts in it. Sometimes you cannot out do others even when you try.

Took a few years but mine finally figured out the East and West directions along with the 1st exit and 2nd exit directions.

But then again its not just the gals with direction problems. It was always a Hoot to watch guys when I was in the service that did no know their left from their right.

My dad. You could take him anywhere blindfolded and he could look around and then say we need to go this way. He never got lost. I guess that was because he was raised in Texas and spent part of WWII, in Germany and other countries. Me, I get lost real easy.
