I hit Contra Loma or as the locals call it Loma the last couple of weekends. But I came down with a cold so I didn't post the weekend before last. As we all know the weather hasn't been great. No home run fish or limits. But I picked up a quality fish the last 2 outings missed a couple. The Sat. before last was a nice 3 - 3.5 lb trout this one was fun to catch because I left my net in the truck. So I had to ware the fish down enough to use the old hooked finger in the gill trick to get it in the boat. And the rest are from yesterday. The fish was a nice 4 lb + trout. They were both caught the same way. It's my go to when the wind picks up. And I don't feel like swinging around on anchor or trolling and fighting the wind. Anyone else here use a drift sock when the wind picks up? It's kind of like trolling just a lot slower.. I figure the area I want to cover go up wind and toss the sock out. I caught these 2 while dragging a power egg power worm combo off a 6' to 8' leader I like long leaders when doing this. I'm an old ship and house painter. And I converted one of my old 10' extension roller poles into my net handle.

And just around the corner from Fort Point ocean side is Baker Beach no place for dropping hoops or nets. But you have a chance of snaring a couple of keeper Dungeness crabs with a serf rod & snare

And then some Fred and I always know when high tide is coming or going by which way the container ships are going. When heading east they're chasing the incoming high tide. And usually heading to the port of Stockton. And when they're heading west they're chasing the tide out to the Golden Gate.

It was one of those mornings this morning but the pictures don't do it any justice. I need a new phone. We've been here for 20 yrs now and god willing another 20 yrs.🤞But here it is if the pictures load right. I missed 1 pic it would have shown the cranes at the old Port Chicago Naval weapons station that blew up in the early 1940s the 1st pic across the river is the Travis Air Force base in Fairfield, Suisun City, Suisun, Grizzly, and Honker bay, Montezuma Slough, Collinsville the old Pittsburg P.G&E plant. City of Antioch the merging of the Sacramento and San Joaquin rivers the 160 Antioch bridge and the city of Oakley.

I used go fish off Bacon Island on and around the railroad trestle there it was a pretty good spot. Just head down 4 like your going to Stockton after the 2nd bridge and you get thru that curvy stretch a little past that right that'll take you to Tracy. Make a left on to Bacon Island Rd. Or better yet just Google the directions to Bullfrog marina. And you want to fish the railroad trestle you can't miss it's before you get to Bullfrog marina. It's been a few years since the last time I was out there but it was always a good spot. Oh and pile worms seemed to work the best there.

Once I found a 2 - 3 lb bass had tried swallowing a smaller bass. I was able to free them and send them both off on their marry way. The strangest thing or things I found lodged in a largemouth bass mouth. The Bass was around a 5 lbs.
That had 2 large peach pits. That had somehow gotten stuck. With one on each side at the back of its mouth. Where the gill plate comes off the head. I took a picture of it, before removing the pits and letting it back go. I'll have to see if I can find. They'd been there for awhile. You could tell by how dark they were almost black. It made me think about making up some peach pit lures.

Not one of my finer moments I was running behind once like usual and I can't remember where we had to be. So I did a quick in and out of the shower got dressed. And as I went to do my hair. I noticed the can of foam hair mousse canwas empty. No biggie there's always a extra can of 2 under the sink so I grab one and I'm using it and I'm putting more and more on because it's not working. And I'm getting pissed because it's not working. And we should have already been out the door by now. So I'm yell to my wife to come and give me a hand and don't ever buy this F@!'#:g brand of hair mousse again this stuffs crap it doesn't work. And the first words to come out of her mouth as she's coming to bail my ass out. Is and I'll never forget it was, what's that foam flea spray for the dog doing out. Since I was in such a rush I didn't have my glasses on yet. So when I reached down to grab a new can of mousse. I grabbed the wrong can. The cans were the same shape, color and size. But the only difference was what I thought was picture of a happy mom, kid or family was actually a picture of a puppy and kitten. So and all I could say was, well I guess while I was trying to do my hair I figured I'd try taking care of any fleas while I was at. And I'm happy to report that I haven't had any fleas then or since my hair treatment.

Morning Fred It looks like yours may have a pony or 2 more than mine dose. Mine has or had the old school lower looking unit I was going to take a pic to compare it. But I can't seem to find it now. Sometimes I think I married my mother. The only difference is my mother thru my toys out and my wife just gives my toys away to the grandkids. I must have missed the memo that the grandkids were coming over yesterday. Well at least a phone call is easier than digging thru the trash.
