I only use artificial baits. Mostly marabu jiggs or plastic curly tail grubs. But if I we're you I would continue to use the live worms but I suggest casting and retrieving them not just letting then sit under a bobber and waiting.

Curly tail grub in a jug head . Nice and cheap. You will catch fish and not care if you loose them. A step up is an imitation cast master spoon. More money but great results. Expect to spend some money to catch the fish but not $6 to $9 bucks like the rapalas
