It's hard to give that answer because there's so many great places. My go to bait is the bar s frank on a treble smaller diameter than the dog. Tight lines and post some catches!

I can't speak of the Elk but I do love catching these fish! My 2 goto spots are below Wilson or wheeler dams. My pb is an 18 inches, wt unk. Plus these spots are great fisheries for sooo many species.

Saws right about the stiffer rod. You need a rod with some spine to get good hook tip penetration. Took me way too long to figure that out! My flyrod has an ul spincast really good for crappie and bream, terrible on all bass species. Lost a lot of good fish til I figured it out.
