Yankeeblue, where are you located? I'm originally from Sault Ste. Marie MI, and know several good fishing streams, as well as great spots on the St. Mary's River.

I am retired with a disability. Though I can walk, and stand OK, climbing any kind of embankment is nearly impossible. I tie flies, and build custom rods. I'm living now with me eldest son, his wife, and three of my grandkids in Helena, MT. I have a 7 weight Winston BIII, and a 3 weight CTS Crystal-glass rod that just needs to be fished. I'm looking for water that is easily accessible, with a good chance for catching trout from the shore, somewhere close to Helena. Anyone knew of such a place? I am new to Montana.

I spent ten years in the U.S. Navy, serving both on aircraft carriers, and on Naval Air Station North island, next to San Diego. I also worked for General Dynamics, and Lockheed Missiles and Space, repairing electronic sub assemblies on aircraft, and te Navy's DSRV - Alvin. I moved back to my home town in U.P. MI., and built the telecommunication network for my local Native American Tribe, and also went to school and earned my B.S. degree in electrical engineering technology, while taking care of my sick wife, and raising two giirs, and two boys.

Now, I just want to enjoy my family, qualify for a kidney transplant, and maybe do a little fishing.
