I went to one of my regular spots today. Filled a trash bag and my net with garbage. From the amount if fast food wrappers, beer cans, and a huge pile of cigarette butts, the problem will probably cure itself soon. I try to collect all the fish line I find. I tie it in little balls snd discard it later.
