There are some pretty good fisherman giving good ideas. Bass can see better in low light conditions than their prey. The lateral line along their side is supposed to detect movement. Supposedly they can calculate the energy they will get compared to the energy used to catch that certain prey. The biggest Bass live in the deepest part of the lake. They have certain paths to come shallow. Called highways. People say the fishing was really good, only because the conditions were right for the fish to come shallow. But on normal days you have to go to them. But if you think about eating a big dinner, afterwards going and sitting in your favorite chair, if the wife walks up with a piece of pie? You would probably eat it. Finesse is an issue during the day on a pressured body of water. I am saying what has taken me 65 year's to learn. Good luck and God bless Dan

I don't know the truth for sure, but I have brought home several smaller Bass, that had swallowed a hook while pan fishing with worms. Maybe 10-13" fish. At the time I had a large fish tank. I put a many a bass in the tank with a hook in their gut, the next morning I would wake up to a bare hook laying in the bottom of the tank. How they do it? I have no idea. Dan

I was fishing for crappies with a pinkie jig and caught a 22 pounder. He actually took the jig. With 6 lb. Test, it was a real drag testing fight. Luckily I got him to the boat. The wife and I had just gotten together, and when she hooked a bigger fish, I would stand up with the net and say, ok I will do my part. While she was asking for help. When I got it to the boat, she just stood there and said ok I'm ready to do my part. What a fighter it was. God bless Dan

It depends on the fish you are after. Some are cold weather, some hot weather, some are deep and some are shallow. I think everyone is telling you Bass fishing. Dan

All I can say is, there has to be something there to catch, before you can catch it

Jig fishing for walleyes is waiting for the hit. Just about every fish I caught on a jig hit on the drop. Jig easy and a double twitch works good for me. When lowering the rod don't just drop it, lower so that you can feel the jig. Takes some getting used to. With light line, you will feel one or two little ticks
Set the hook. They like the current if there is any. I have done good on bobbers with blue Gill fillets. Especially if you fish at night. Good luck and God bless. Dan

I have had my best luck on the large minnow imitation lures. I caught one on a four inch rattle trap last week. A fourteen years old boy, friend of my grandson, latched in to it. 42" was his smile and the fish. Good luck. Dan

Have had this lure for years. The box says 2120-BF. I know it's a Heddon Dowagiac, but I don't know what it is called. Dan

Great video, enjoy today's youth getting in to the outdoors. With waters getting harder to access and freezer stocking fisherman keeping every catch, we need all the help we can get. When young I had woods and rivers available to me. I lived in them. Knew what was there and where it was at. Today it's hard to find. I see two hundred thousand dollar Bass boats keep six inch crappies. Where it's headed? I don't know, but we need to just keep it fun so more of our youth with try to preserve what they can. Good bless Dan

I too would go with Berkely lightning rod. Have a few and love them. Wally world has them for $25. I too like the med. Heavy rod, but you can work it out. Diawa has always done me good and is a good starter reel. Also less money. Depending on the wight you are casting, use either a 6-10 pound line. Mono is ok as a starter. Feel out the waters near you, talk to some other fisherman along the bank and bait shops. To many people get to high tech. Just go enjoy your self and start your adventures. Good bless and good luck. Great catch, flat heads love bull heads. But have seen them eat channels. Guess you are in a catfish water. Was my dad's favorite fish to catch. Said you never know what you will get on your line. Wishing I was there. Dan

Have been pretty bad for ten years now. Hardly walk or lift. I have a 14 year old grandson that is a big help. He is a broad shouldered kid that Loves the outdoors as much as I do. My wife is an outdoor fan as much as anyone. Does the cooking and cleaning just to let me know she cares for us. I believe I am truly blessed to have them. Stay outside Dan
