I headed upstream towards the Shepaug Dam, and about 2/3 of the way, all was made clear to me. I come around a bend and there's the Lake Patrol boat with his blue lights on. Apparently they laid a gas line across the lake, and an Excavator on a Barge was burying it with rocks from another Barge. After slowly making my way past I ran up to the dam, only to find another Barge being loaded with rocks. Giving them lots of room and with the strong current, all I could catch was panfish. Working my way down to the first set of docks paid off with a 1.5 lb Smallie. After a couple dinks, I circled around and made another pass. Near the last dock I caught another decent one, just shy of 2 lbs. I ran halfway to the ramp and fished the tornado trees, but found nothing but Rockys and dink Smallmouth. Ran down to the last stretch before the ramp and caught a 1.5 lb Largemouth. Shot over to JMK's side of the lake but only got 1more dink and another Rocky.
Total score 6 Smallmouth, 6 Rockbass, 1 Bluegill, and 1 Largemouth. Nothing big,but all in all a decent 4.5 hours. The Jetskies and Tubers were just starting to show up, so time to go.
PS: All fish caught on a 5" unweighted TR Dinger, most on Summer Gill, a few on Watermelon/Red Flake.
