That is one of the most incredible things I have ever seen. Thanks Ronnie. I am stunned....

An example here of how some people read the initial post and then zip to the bottom with their reply and no regard to assessing the commentary in between.

I understand that point of view and I also have had times where I think they "slanted" the real story. Especially in political matters where they seem to defend the left/liberal side of a story.

In this case, while the volcano did erupt, and some people were killed, the posted video is fake a simulation and who made it is listed in the article. No real reason to (lie) about this kind of deal.

I was sent the same video many months ago, had already seen the same deal. Some people sucked right into thinking that what they saw was the real deal................NO IT WAS NOT.

The attached extraordinary video was taken automatically from a home-installed security camera, and it shows New Zealand's White Island volcano eruption on December 9, 2019, where 5 people died. This volcano eruption was filmed by an unmanned camera and it continued to film after the eruption. At the beginning of the video, please wait for 24 seconds when nature's roar begins. However, most importantly, you must wait another 24 seconds after the blackout. It appears that the video has ended, but it hasn't. The screen slowly clears to reveal the devastated town and the resulting new flaming volcano. The town had been evacuated, but unfortunately, a tour boat was at the island. The boat does not appear in the video, but was heavily damaged.

This video is bogus. It's a simulation.

Read all about it here.

Try several thousand on a trolling motor, or 2 grand on a fish finder, or maybe just a battery for 400 bucks. Nothing of any quality is cheap.

I think I'm fairly familiar with how prices have and/or are going. Back in the mid '80s, I bought a used Skeeter Bass boat Starfire (17 foot) from a guy that had been using it on the pro tour. It was prepped and ready to go with a 150 Merc on the back end and matching custom trailer. Think it was an 82 model.

I paid ($10,000) for that ride and sold it in early 90s for around $6500 as I recall.

Now I'm seeing a similar Skeeter setup advertised for around $70,000 plus.

I'll bet some of you older guys like me have or did have an old Ambassador baitcaster. One that was usually red and came in a leather like case and damned if the case didn't include a plastic tube full of replacement parts.

On an new (by that I would mean) a totally new and different set up at all, I could buy into your logic.

When the basics of a casting reel are fairly straight forward and some "engineer" moves the spool and/or side cover a few millimeters, etc. that in no way substantiates grossly extra charges.

We're not re-inventing the wheel here. It's all caught up in "pizazz" and Hype to try and justify way overboard charges for a simple device.

I've noted in recent issues of my Bassmaster magazine, various ads for both bait casting and also spinning reels.

The prices are in my opinion, waaaaaaaay out of whack. I'm seeing casting reels that list for $299, $399 and a spinning reel for $499.

Now I don't give a damn just how many "bearings" they have cranked into the reel body, nor what exotic material the reel is made from. There just is no justification in my mind for the prices of these reels to have climbed that high.

I worked in the fishing dept. at Bass Pro back around 2005, kinda familiar with the "drill". Most every reel is made overseas and the combined parts and the associated labor to put them together wouldn't add up to a tank of gas for my Avalanche.

If any of the lakes you want to go to are in areas that get crowded with many boaters.............you need to try and pick a time when there are few boaters around. This will allow you to learn how to launch and also reload the boat on the trailer.

Different lakes have launch ramps that vary. Some are steeper than others, the lake level comes into play also. Pay attention to exactly where the tops of the trailer fenders are when u are launching. Did the boat come off easily?? If not, you may not have backed quite far enough into the water. Go too far, and the boat is gonna float up off of the trailer.
Same deal when reloading. If you back the trailer down too far, the boat is not gonna "track" between the bunkers and center itself on the trailer. If you stop too short, you may have trouble getting the boat far enough up on the trailer to hook the bow strap..............don't forget to raise up the motor before trying to pull the whole rig up the ramp. STOP at top of ramp and get out and be sure boat is centered on trailer. If OK, pull drain plug and get back in truck and move away from ramp to complete hooking up straps, etc. for the ride home.

THESE STEPS WILL GO ALONG WAY IN MAKING IT EASIER FOR YOU TO LAUNCH AND RELOAD AND ALSO KEEP FROM PISSING OFF OTHERS WAITING TO LAUNCH OR LOAD..........if you are messing up and they have to wait.

If you plan to sink some old christmas trees, typically you're gonna tie a bag of heavy rocks and/or use a whole or partial cement block tied to the tree to sink it and keep it down.

I highly recommend doing that via a pontoon boat and/or a large aluminum boat. Many years ago, I had my father in law with me trying to sink a large tree from my bass boat. At some point, he started the tree (first) over the side while we were still drifting. Once that tree hit the water, it has tremendous drag to it and before he could stop it or get the cement block over the side, that tree started going with the current drift and dragging that damn cement block down the inner wall of my bass boat gouging the hell out of my gel coat.

If you live far enough North, it would be fairly easy to stay warm.

All ya gotta do is wait for the lake or pond to freeze over to a depth of 5" to 6" or more. Ya buy an old clunker sedan (with a decent heater). Ya cut the floor boards out in the back seat area. You get out your ice hole saw and cut out a nice hole in the ice and drive the clunker right over the top of it so it's lined up right beneath to open back seat floor.

Now, you could be all set with a radio, blankets if needed, bottle of Scotch or your favorite choice and some short ice fishing rods. Bingo............you're fishing out of the wind, ya got a heater to keep the interior warm. What more could you want.

If it's the top line guide causing the problem, maybe it is cracked. Go to Bass Pro or any tackle shop and get a broken guide kit. They come in various sizes and they are usually metal. That could solve your problem.

Have you tried "scoring" the fillets before frying them?

Take your knife and cut a row of diagonal lines at a 45 degree angle one way and then do another cut the opposite way. Cuts would end up looking like a line of XXXXXXXXXXXX.

This has worked on some species as those small bones pretty much dissolve during the frying.
