West System Epoxy, Gougeon Brothers has a plastic boat repair kit, will handle HDPE, LDPE, ABS, PVC & Polycarbonate plastics. I don’t know where the Old Town boat falls in that range, but they probably do. I believe you won’t find anyone more helpful, knowledgeable or capable. Excellent people, excellent products. And NO, I don’t work for them, have nothing to gain other than the satisfaction.

Newbie here, hope I tap the right thing. I agree fully with the people who have responded, inflatable is the way to go! As I understand the law, they MUST be WORN to be counted by Law Enforcement.
Further, I’m not sure the “belt pack” style is Coast Guard legal anymore. Nor the “rip cord” (only) style.
I have been quite satisfied with the units purchased from West Marine.
Enjoy!

It seems Montana wants out-of-staters only for their money. I paid their non-resident invasive species fee/tax/penalty once, no more! We simply AVOID traveling in Montana because of it. Couple dollars for residents, $25 for non-residents, what a MONEY GRAB!

Right 6482bodean, I think us Northern boys know them as Catalpa trees and worms.
And the grubs are, as stated, found in Goldenrod stalks. At least they did as a kid in Wisconsin. Haven’t found many in recent years, in Michigan. In the summer, Goldenrod can be reactive - hay fever.
You will also find a similar grub but even smaller in acorns in the fall. Have not tried them as bait - so darn small.

=plumbob]Here in NC we don't have the red tide but we have the farmers g within inches, yes inches of the run off ditches. No buffer what so ever. Can't build a house within 100' of the water which is reasonable with the rising waters who would want to. Oh that's right Nags Head beach owners. Sure insurance pays for the structural damage, but who pays for the washed out debris? We do in one way or another.

But farmers can plant within inches!!!! We do get the down pours in the warmer months and yes the waters are just loaded with chemicals. Between gill nets and farmers lack of respect for the watermen there is only one to blame. Politicians that let this crap go on. Makes one wonder why do we vote?[/quote]

People are quick to criticize farmers use of fertilizer. I would ask you to consider for a moment, how many laws are over fertilized. And where does that runoff go, but over the curb, down the storm sewer, into the drain/waterways. Waterfront properties it’s pretty much direct. You don’t find many buffer zones on waterfront lawns. Here in Michigan, I believe buffer zones are required and used in agriculture. I think you won’t find many farmers buying fertilizer to throw it away. And further, handling of manure/animal waste is STRICTLY controlled.
