Took my wife out today to try and catch a lingcod for Mother's day meal. Planned to launch at 7 but the fog was socked in. We cooked breakfast and decided to go out around 10. Visibility was about 1/2 mile all day. We went to my spot and wife hooked a fish first drift, she didn’t reel in quick enough and got snagged on a rock. We circled back around to free the line and she still had the fish on! Her first Lingcod, 28”, 8#.

I caught a baby ling about 16” and a few rockfish. We headed in after a few hours as it was as getting choppy and the fog rolled back in.

We took both dogs today and the little one didn’t fair to well, she got sick a few times.

We had fresh fish for dinner.

Nice fish and pics. It’s good everything worked out after a later start to the day than you planned. Thanks for sharing.

On my second trip this year, action was much better despite the cool water temps. New regs this year are 3 fish over 18 inches. Of course almost every single fish was either 17 or 17.5 inches 😂. Got one over 18 for the table. Watch those fingers lol….

Nice…and those teeth would definitely damage fingers. Thanks for sharing.

Yesterday I got 3 at dawn and 3 at dusk. Incredible wildlife in between. A bobcat joined me for breakfast during my morning fish. Watched a bighorn sheep graze on leafy greens and saw tons of cranes and water fowl. Nature is so beautiful. Happy Mother's day to all those fishermoms!

Nice fish, good catching and beautiful scenery too. Thanks for sharing.

Some nice catching you folks had there! One of my two best baits is a Yamamoto 5" Thin Natural Shad wacky rigged. The other is Grn Pumpkin. Tight lines

Thanks and those baits sound good.

Thanks DV for the fishing story with pictures. We always bring along night crawlers. Drop a worm, make a sandwich, pour a cup of coffee and lay back and wait for a jerk on the other end to get you up and going ago.

Good to hear from you, and that sounds like a good outing.

DV looks like y'all had a decent day brother 👍🎣😊

I've heard the lake like many other gets crazy thru summer

Yes, caught fish and had good weather, we had fun.

The lake does get busier in the summer, many more people are out enjoying the warmer weather and water.

Nice catching DV. Time to break out the Yum Dingers. Watermelon/ red flake and Summer Gill should be working now. Thanks for the pictures.

Thanks Fred.

Yes, those are hot baits. A few people here are catching on Senko - black with red or blue flake 5”, but most likely any darker color will work.

Also heard ned rigs are catching fish.

Had a fun day on the water at Blue Marsh Lake. Fished from 8 AM to 12 PM and caught a bunch of fish including LMs, channel cats and perch on nightcrawlers & small worms. Tried 6” shad color soft plastic swimbaits with no luck. The water and air temp were in the 60s along with sun and clouds.

Got a few today , I think I got just as many to the yac and they did a self release. They were hitting very soft in this wind, just little slurps not really any blow ups. But it's coming my pad field has shoots just breaking the water. Won't be long now!!! Got 6 for the day. 🐸🐸🐸🐸🐸🇺🇲🇺🇲🙏

Nice bass Andy and bunch of them too. Good catching!

Went ultralight jigging in the 60 degree Delaware River behind Arm and Hammer ballpark in Trenton, NJ, this afternoon on the incoming tide in the cold rain for the first time this year. Saw two spin out accidents on Route 129 before the tunnel while driving to my spot. Lots of fish 🐠 were jumping out of the river. Only one boat was there. A hen mallard swam nearby with 10 ducklings. Caught and released a fallfish before catching, tagging and releasing a striped bass with a 1/32 oz chartreuse leadhead jig on 4 lb test line. Took lots of pictures. Didn’t see another fisherman. Went carping in the 64 degrees Millstone River on the north shore in Plainsboro, NJ, this evening in the rain. Saw a guy from NY ram the concrete obelisk near the boat ramp with his Toyota while putting on my boots. 3 accidents in one day was too many. Threw out corn 🌽 for chum, then caught 3 common carp with canned whole kernel corn late in the day in the cold rain during a nor’easter. The resident great blue heron kept visiting my spot.

Took another trip to Texoma lake and did very good! Biggest fish were a 19 lb blue cat and an 8 and 10 lb striper with numerous fish caught smaller as well. Great time!

Those are large…good catching.
