BTW What cigar brand is that? Looks like it would be good sitting down at night with a cup of coffee or something a little stronger.

OK, I may get yelled at for this but you asked.
IF your not good with casting yet, get a closed face Zebco reel. Either a 202,66 or better (costs more) 33.
Much easier for casting with.
Otherwise I would go for an "Open Face/Spinning Reel". Then you can try moving up to a bait casting reel.
The open face has more line on the spool than the Zebco closed face reels.
For Saltwater fishing the open face is better unless your boat fishing and just dropping the line straight down.
The Bait Casting reel takes a "LOT" more learning to use good without "Birds Nests". IMO
I started out with Penn Bait casters in the 60's and bought a Zebco 33 and never looked back, because of the "Bird Nests" that would occur once in a while.

Welcome! It has been my knowledge that Fresh water fish bite because they are hungry or mad.
So if they aren't biting, make them mad. LOL Put the lure out there and then bring it in as fast as possible.
3 times same spot, your trying to make any fish there mad.
A lot like having the young kids next door making loud noise at night 3 nights running. LOL

You should have shown the teeth on the Toad Fish. LOL They are as bad as Blue Fish, IMO.
I heard that they were also called "Poor Man's Lobster". Don't know as I never had one big enough to clean or cook.

I read a news break that some people pulled a baby cub black bear out of a tree to take selfie pictures with it. They better thank their lucky stars the mama didn't see this, this could have ended badly for the knot heads and tragically for the mama bear.

There's two things you learn as a sportsman where they're fishing or hunting or out for a stroll in the wilderness you don't poke the bear and you sure don't mess with baby bears. Fastest man alive would not outrun and mama bear in hot pursuit. This is just dumb!
I read a news break that some people pulled a baby... (show quote)

Was walking in the National Forest on a trail and 20 feet in front of me a Black Bear Cub went across the trail and climbed up a tree going woof, woof. I turned around and went back up the trail holding a good sized knife and a pistol with Snake Shot for the first 2 rounds. I figured IF Mama came after me those 2 shots would be aimed at her face to blind her and bloody her so she couldn't see or smell me as I jumped off the trail.
Glad to say nothing happened. For a hundred yards a bear can run down a person running away.
