Till then I’m just background for the most part. I bought a fishin pole! Seen the river once, but my pool a bunch of times. Less snags and the yellow duckies are in a heap of trouble!!! 😂

Correct Saw on what happened. He’s in rehab but sounds like it will be quite a while till he can communicate on the Stage again. I’ll talk to Kathy tonight and see about a process going forward with notes and messages. The rehab center is about 10 miles from my house and I plan to visit soon. Gotta find my Covid vac card and see when visiting hours are.

According to Kathe, he has trouble moving his legs, arms and hands. Good idea though. Pretty sure he would have replied to the Stage threads if he could.

Yes, I got her email last night but she only checks it once or twice a week. Good idea though. I might print them out and give it to her anyway so Paul has something to pick up and reread once in a while. Therapy. I’m sure he’s pretty board there.

Thank you. I have a little more update on Paul. I spoke with Kathe last night to follow up and let her know how much Paul is loved on the Stage. She sure appreciates all of you.
Paul is in rehab we know. He not only has problems with processing cognitively on the output side, he also has problems with his legs, arms, hands with movement. Not paralyzed and the doctors expect recovery but it’s going to be a long haul.
I had a thought that I’d like opinions on. Maybe share my email address with the Stage and you all can send me emails that have notes and thoughts for Paul to have read to him by Kathe. I can print them out and deliver them to Kathe. I’m sure it would brighten his day and who knows, help him with memory recall.
I’m open to other ideas too. Just throwing it out there.

I’m sorry friends about my last post on this thread. I received so many emails about responses and private messages today, I thought I was sending a private message. Well, you know my heart and did not mean for that to be a platform on the Stage for my personal beliefs.

Steve, It’s funny as things go. Of course I’m not terribly involved with the stage, much more a lurker than being an active member. I still read the stage email everyday but don’t engage often. I still want to get out there but there always seems to be other priorities. Didn’t even know “chit chat” was a thing.
I reached out to Paul and we went fishing on the American River. Communicated with him randomly just to see how he was doing and Kathe came with us and worked puzzles while we fished. I learned a few things from Paul and learned he was a guy with two personas, one on the stage and one when you’re with him.
So here is the part you’ll get because we are in the same camp.
Bob (jarhead) and I are International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers retired members. We became friendly on that basis and he’s relatively local. Bob, Paul and I connected as we wanted to make a trout fishing trip happen.
Esther 4:13 I think. Created for just such a time as this. This has happened to me more than once and I fall on my knees because God knew way in advance and chose me to make the connection. Maybe someone else could have chased this down but I don’t believe in coincidence. God still works miracles.
Anyway, thanks for all you do for the Stage Steve and one of these days….. one of these days….. I’m gonna get me a fish!

Hi all, I’m not a real regular here on the Stage. I do have an update on Paul (Spirit27) as he is the one that took me up to the American River to go fishing for the first time in 40 years.

Jarheadfishinfool (Bob) reached out to me to see if I could find out anything. I was able to connect with his wife Kathe today and she was so happy we did. She had no idea how to reach out to us. She has my # now.

Paul (Spirit) fell and hit his head while car shopping. He cracked it pretty good, concussion and all. He is out of the hospital now and in a rehab facility. While his receptive cognitive ability is pretty good, his ability to process and speak is lagging. It is certainly a work in progress and I can find out more in time but Kathe wanted you all to know how much the Stage has meant to him.

“Get off my lawn” Paul is a great guy. I’m sure he would appreciate all of your “where’s Spirit?” and “I’m worried, I hope he’s alright” posts when he gets to that time in his healing.

Perhaps you-all can lead me with what I can do on my end as it appears I am the point person Kathe knows.
I will reconnect with Kathe soon but some ideas from the Stage would help me.

I really wish I could have made Saw. No boat, no camping gear and emergency request from family for electrical troubleshooting gave me the only excuse I could come up with.

Cool, let’s see what Sea Eagle has up his sleeves. I really want to hit Oroville Diversion Dam again but from the correct side. Lots of potential there with water outlets from Oroville. Paul, you have the trout fishing knowledge with gear size and bait/lures. Wealth of knowledge Sea Eagle!
