Well I got my grass mowed and did some important correspondence with a couple of my fellow Facilitators, to prepare for work this coming week and the nice weather finally got to me and off to the lake I went
When I got there the wind was howling and the SW wind was sending some pretty good rollers to the launch . I got ready and satin the truck for a half hour to let it die down a little. By 6 pm it was starting to let up but I still hadn't put in yet, I waited a little longer then put in but stayed in the little cove near the launch to stay out of the wash and wind.
Finally I was able to slowly make my way across to where I wanted to go. Nothing seemed too interested but I lost a couple small ones(HHH) and just before dark I caught my skunk fish, whew that was cutting it close. Nice to head out in shirtsleeves instead of bulky sweatshirts and rain gear. I'll take it for a really short day. ๐Ÿธ๐Ÿธ๐Ÿธ๐Ÿธ๐Ÿธ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ฒ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ฒ๐Ÿ™

Went back to SanV today with Larry (FishNRods) to try to match my last outing with Tyler. Came close with a total of 16 fish, mostly between 1-2.5lbs. Just guessing, but would say we are probably the oldest duo fishing together. Combined age of just under 160 years............and we are still catching!! Doing a lot better there than my local lakes to the north.

Nice fish and who said Old Farts can't fish

Definitely a fun day for you in the kayak! Enough "catching" to reward your efforts as the local wildlife bystanders accompanied you on the outing for an enhanced experience!

Yes the bystanders cheer me on

Nice fish!
Traffic was crazy yesterday. Drove into NYC for 10am rehearsal, then up to 80th st to Zabar's then, once I got out of the tunnel Rt. 3 was like a parking lot. No accidents, just crazy people all going to the Mall for last minute Mother's Day gifts, but driving like the Devil was in the car!!!
GREAT shot of the chair. Imagine any one of us Stagers sitting in it, lol!!

I could not image driving into NYC. I live in a one horse town and only small two lane roads in the hills, most of the time you can drive for miles and no other cars on the road. If there are 3 cars in front of you the traffic is heavy.

Mike I use Yellow or green.
Even with bass they'll pick it up n swim off.
You don't feel anything n if you can't see line moving you'll miss them.

Anymore I only use the yellow --- green is too hard to see

This guest would take Ya on the San Joaquin, I launch ยพ mi downstream of Hwy 145... Boats set up for shallow water... C & R only, SJR or Your pond.

Did a bit of fishing on one of the local waters before the really wet cool weather moves in today. Landed 10 bass to 16โ€, several crappies and a bunch of rockets, lost a pretty decent bass right at the shore. Nothing all that big but still tons of fun on a 6.5 micro lite.

Nice catching

After spending a long weekend at Berryessa and catching squadush (except for a small Kokanee)...I had to try to see what I was doing wrong.

Turns out what I was doing was mostly right, but now I have a better feel for the lures and speeds involved that work if fish are biting. Got to see the guide's favorite lures, we were trolling speedy Shiners at around 3.5mph. I hooked seven and boated three, one was a nice eating sized King about a pound and a half. I'll increase my catch ratio on my own, I was trying the guide's style and think it loses more fish than the way I do it.

The tide was right, the timing was right, the red tide had not showed up yet and the weather was perfect. Not a bad haul for 75 year old man. That being said, I will pay for it tomorrow. Limits were 7 gaper/horseneck and 40 butter clams. I dug a second limit of butter clams I could not keep showing others how to do it. It was a great day and met some very nice people. I think the outdoors brings out the best in me.
Just a side note: Dogs, even the little yelping ones are afraid of me with that hat on. Go figure.
