If "the tug is the drug", then we've all overdosed. You'll find that out as you visit the forum daily.

I primarily surf fish from Spring through Fall, although due to my physical limitations, I didn't do much last year.
There's a group of 5 FS members that fish SPI, but we haven't gotten together since summer 2023

As you'll find out, SPI has an amazing fishery variety, you never know what's going to hit your line, regardless of what you rig up for. Live shrimp is the preferred bait.

Unless it's cold, there's never a good or bad time to fish. It's a good time whenever you can go!
You might also consider a charter with the many knowledgeable Captains. Worth doing a trip with them to get familiar with the Laguna Madre and get lots of fishing tips.

23%.
COSTELLO: Wait, I got a question for you. That means there are two ways to bring down
the unemployment number?

Mrs Engel, I live in Brownsville, TX and fish, on SPI, primarily fish from the surf.
My favorite spots are apprx 5 to 10 miles North of beach access # 6 (past the stables) .
I've had good luck using live shrimp on pompano rigs.
A 4X4 vehicle is advisable.
