And you can usually get a walkon charter where they split it between groups.

Thanks Fly, I'll check your post, I remember seeing it. Also, that's what I was as hoping, a split charter.

Check the fishing reg’s…flounder season is aug 15 to sept 15 I think..minimum length is 15”, not sure what the daily limit is…blues are now 3 per day…red drum have a length slot for keepers….I fished in the surf in Rodanthe….lucked out the guy next to us in the rv park was a regular so I had a “guide”.
Got fresh bait at Hatteras Jacks’s tackle
shop …caught a huge sting ray there that took 20” to get it up on the beach…was using an 11’ Penn Prevail with a vintage Penn 700 Greenie that I’ve had since the 60ies and 20#mono…the only problem I had was that we had a lot of really rough surf and couldn’t keep a line in the water..
Make sure you bring everything you need as resources are limit

Man is that one beautiful view. Would love to just sit there and dream. Thanks Yankee.

That's what I have been doing. Haven't been there for couple of weeks. It is beautiful, but more dreaming than catching. It is near UConn.

Glad you had a good week Plum. What could be bad about beautiful sunrises catching fish, and time spent with friends. Hope your return to normalcy goes smoothly and you adjust accordingly.

We went for our first walk yesterday. Only a block and back but it's a start. He starts therapy this week I think.

It's progress. Good luck to him

¡¡Dang it, you just brought an old "story" to mind!!
Two drunks are urinating off of the bridge. First drunk says: "¡Man, that water is cold!" ... Not to be outdone, the 2nd guy says: "Deep too!"

An oldie, but goodie. One of my favorites, probably because it's short and I can remember it.

I’ve always wanted to fish Somerville Lake and a buddy called Thursday night to go fishing there Friday. It’s about a 1-1/2 hour drive from here. We arrived right before sunup. We fished with minnows and jigs for Crappie, which were all over the lake, and we started catching fish right away but they were too small. It’s a beautiful lake and I’m glad we went. We’ll go back when it’s cooler and the bigger ones will be biting. We fished until about 1100 and decided to go before the Labor Day boats started showing up. I got a good bite and thought maybe the big Crappie we’re finally biting but all it was, was a goo. I took its picture just to prove I could catch a fish. We stopped for lunch about an hour away. When we came out the bottom had fallen out. It took us almost four hours to get back. The traffic in Houston was dead stopped due to flooding. I can’t wait to go again. It’s just a damned beautiful lake.

One never knows! My wife and I attended a large church in Houston for many years, until just now when we have moved to Round Rock and in Independent Living. But sometime before we moved, we often rode a shuttle bus from remote parking to the church campus so that visitors would have parking closer. On this shuttle bus, I would often engage small boys, and since i didn't always know their names at first, i would ball them "Cowboy" "pistol" or some other affectinate term and engage them in conversation. Years later, the mother of one of these boys told my wife how much her son loved to visit with me. He craved the attention of a grown man and I was always willing to chat. Just Sayin...RJS

Be cautious of the weather, it’s killer out there, not many places to take shelter on the islands.

Thanks John. Looking like hurricane Larry will stay offshore and not be a problem.
