I think they were joking about the ship not moving, that being said, way to close for me. The wake from those big boys can swamp the bow.

Pretty sure it's open, lots of vehicles at Woodcock and Ward rd. Limited access with all of the levy work. Sorry not much help, as always WDFW Emergency rule changes are the best bet on season updates.

Is area nine open?, where are you fishing? I thought nine closed on September 25th. Could be wrong, looking at WDFW emergency rule changes for my info.

No news, they should be piled up waiting on rain. That close to the river they are nearly finished eating. I have heard a blue fox or similar can entice a bite. I have never had any luck in that fishery.

Made the trip to Sooke from Port Angeles today. We were able to get one king and three coho, clipped fish were hard to find.

The one that is the 1st thru the 30th is the Dungeness fishery, this does not refer to the river. This is the water from the red bouy at the end of Dungeness spit to the Port Williams boat ramp. Most is too shallow to fish Coho. There are some fish around the bouy area. Look up the Dungeness map in the area six rules for a map. It will make more sense looking at the map. I do not combat fish on the river but some nice fish are taken.

Wednesday the 28th is the last day. Clipped fish have been hard to find. If you can go start in about 350 ft and zip zag. The usual flasher with hoochie or a coho killer. Top water can also work with a spinner or bucktail.

Hi ...

I'm new here and live in Sequim, WA. Hoping to tie into others in this area and get local fishing reports, tips, ideas, etc.

Anyone else from this area?

Pete

Hello, coho has really picked up. Head north off Ediz hook, Port Angeles start fishing at about 300 feet. I usually fish about 50 - 75 feet. I like purple haze flash with a green hoochie. Many combos will work. Zig zag and find the schools.

I think messing with somebodys gear is a bad thing. He may have had good intentions but you could have lost that fish on your own. There is a chance you would have landed it.

Brittish Columbia offers a great deal on non resident one day license. About six dollars U.S. per day with a added salmon conservation stamp for about the same. The stamp is good for a year. There is decent blackmouth fishing in the winter as well as some reasonable guides around Sooke.
