Another option if you are using a spinning reel would be to buy an extra spool(s) for the reel. Then load the spools with the line appropriate for the fish you would target on a given day.

Nice fish, keep at it and I am sure there will be many more in your future. Used to do good using frozen cut bait.

Thanks for the pics. Never heard or saw any of those before. Thanks for taking your friend to fish, would bet it makes the day better for both of you.

Look for 2 apps - “Fish/Hunt FL”will show boat ramps and more.
“Fish Rules” will help identify fish, fresh and saltwater, with pics and updated regs.

how do you calibrate this item on the trolling

As long as the motor and heading sensor are paired you point the motor in the direction you want to travel and lock it in. Then set the speed on constant and adjust as needed as conditions change. Direction may also need to be adjusted to stay on track.

It’s an OG4 a prototype; soon to be on the market (according to Ott). Rapala is one of his sponsors.

Pretty sure OG6 is currently available.

Nice fish, some days any color will work and other days hard to figure out what they want.

Since you live in Manteca, have you tried Don Pedro, Tulloch, or New Melones? All good lakes for bass, crappie and trout.

what a coincidence. I'm looking for crappie spots in the Delta, close to Vacaville if possible. any pointers? thanks.

Get a delta map and it should show crappie spots or give Lake Berryessa a shot.

Check an app called “Fish Rules”. Should help to identify both saltwater and freshwater fish in your area and current regulations.
