I finally got to fish my home lake of Bridgeport Reservoir this morning after I fished Gull Lake yesterday for the Trout Opener. I ended up catching and releasing 20 rainbow trout this morning with a 5lb kicker, which I kept! It was a beautiful day in the morning. Not as cold as the high 20s we had at Gull Lake yesterday! LOL! All of my fish were caught on Character Lure spoons which I used at Gull Lake too.
After cleaning and filleting the trout, I ended up giving them to co-workers at the RV camp I work at in Bridgeport (Paradise Shores RV Camp). One of the ladies that I work with said she will make ceviche with the trout I gave her!!! Awesome! She will bring some over when it is ready :-) All in all, another awesome day!

Now that it’s time for the hatchlings I’ve been throwing this the last couple days. But nothing has taken a whack at it. It sure looks good in the water both feet goes around like a Whopper Plopper and it’s noisy and throws water and stays on top and runs straight. I’ll give it a few more tries.

Good looking lure. I’m not sure I could throw that very long. It looks pretty heavy. I am sure a Musky will take it. I’ve seen a Musky take a Loon up on Lac Courte Oreilles in northern Wisconsin.

A snake swam between my legs twice.

If that was me, it would only have swum between my legs once. I wouldn’t be there for a second chance. 😂

Good morning, everyone. This will find me sitting in the airport at 5:30am. I’m on the first flight. I’m headed home, there’s been an emergency. I got a call yesterday from my wife’s son and apparently my wife has had a heart attack. Not sure of the damage, but she’s coherent and talking. She was transported to the hospital ICU. So if I appear to be absent for awhile, that’s why. I hope every one of you have an enjoyable day…

Sending prayers for your wife, you, and your family.

I don't know about 'listening' per se, but anytime you do a Google search for anything it is in their memory banks.

Don't mind seeing Ads for something I was already searching for but, PLEASE stop the ones that flash on and off and cover content I'm trying to read. That I find extremely annoying.

I have started using DuckDuckGo instead of google. My personal experience is that I am getting fewer ads and I like it.

I'm glad you like my stuff. Snakes. I apparently have no fear of em. When I was probably 13, I remember swimming here in Roaring River at the "dam hole" with friends. A snake was swimming towards Wilda who started screaming, so I got all heroic and snatched it. Flung it away, but he did nip me for screwing up his journey. Felt like a wasp sting. That's all I recall about the bite, but I do remember Wilda bein very fond of me afterwards. Woohoo!

Can’t say I fear them, but I respect their space if they respect mine. I prefer a good distance between them and me.

I looked at the radar all loaded with storms,
The lightning was keepin me home.
My worm was sure twitchin,
For me to go fitchin,
Providing me fodder for pomes.
I told my bud down at the dock I was comin,
He told me that I'd lost my mind.
The lightning diminished,
I fished til I finished,
And left lots of bass behind.
With sprinkles that dimpled the flat, glassy lake,
I truly enjoyed every cast.
I landed a few,
A nice one or two,
And had a cool snake slither past.

Thanks for the poem and the pictures.
You can keep that “Anaconda “ far away from me.

Left the house at 4:30 and headed down to Neptune City, NJ to fish the Raritan bay with the boys. Water temperature was 50* and bunker were tough to find in numbers, the schools scattered but we eventually got a few. Threw 9” paddle tails while hunting for bunker and even trolled to no avail, they wanted bunker only. Had a lot of fish that would pick up the offering, run for a bit but then drop the bait without committing. Landed 13 bass between the 3 of us and lost quite a few. Ben got the largest at 33# with Gregg a close second and dad mopped up the rear. I did lose a really good one boat side guessed at 35#. Really wanted to take one home but all were over the slot of 28-31.” Day started slow but ended up quite well. Fun time with the boys.

My older sister was born 7/16/51, right in the middle of the biggest flood ever in KCK! Dad had to drive Mom all the way around KC to get her to Bethany Hospital for delivery! Check it out: 1951 KC Flood

Quite the flood. I looked at a bunch of pictures. Good thing your dad knew alternate routes. The city was inundated.

Ah yes my older brother by 8 months and 1 day comes up with another memory spark. Remember them all Wulffy and would like to see the wind down window come back instead of the electric car windows. And on the bike petal how many remember the attempt at barefooting them?

Yes Jer, Professor Plum in the scholastic sport of recess, was my major in those grade school.

Rember them all.

About six months ago I bought a dimmer switch and roll down windows. They were attached to a Mustang Sports Sprint just like the one I bought new in 1967. What a joy to drive!

Great looking car too.

And most of them are good….

All good stuff. It took me a while on the last one because I viewed it on my phone. Then I had a “V-8” moment 😀. It’s a steel slide. We used to take the wax paper from our sandwich out to the slide and sit on it to “grease “ the slide.
That and the Monkey Bars. Oh my, how did we survive? 🤪
